22 11 001 Replacing right engine mount (M62)

Remove front wheels. See 36 10 300 REMOVING OR INSTALLING FRONT OR REAR WHEEL

Remove reinforcement plate. See FRONT AXLE SUPPORT .

Remove engine splash guard.

Raise engine with special tool approx. 10 mm, described in removing oil sump. See OIL SUMP .

Remove lower clamping screw on clamp.

Scheme 624

Set steering gear to straight-ahead position - markings on steering spindle and steering gear must be aligned.

Remove ignition key in this position. The steering wheel cannot be turned any more and the slip ring in the steering column switch is not damaged.

Detach clamp from steering gear.

Installation

Set steering gear to straight-ahead position - markings on steering spindle and steering gear must be aligned.

Tightening torque, see 32 31 1AZ in TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Release left and right nuts on engine mount/support arm.

Unscrew engine mount from front axle support.

Brace front axle support with workshop hoist.

Unfasten screws.

Lower workshop hoist until engine mount can be removed.

For tightening torque, see 31 10 1AZ in TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Scheme 625

Centering pin (1) must rest in bore hole of front axle support.

22 11 011 Replacing left engine mount (M62)

Work is identical to 22 11 001 Replacing Right Engine Mount (M62) .

22 11 110 Replacing left engine support arm (M62)

Remove exhaust system. EXHAUST SYSTEM - REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS

Remove front axle differential. FRONT DIFFERENTIALS

Remove left exhaust manifold.

Release nut on engine mount/engine support arm.

Detach engine support arm from engine block. 22 11 110 Replacing left engine support arm (M62)

22 32 001 Replacing rubber mount for transmission mounting

Special Tools Required

1. 22 1 011
2. 22 1 013
3. 221 016
4. 333 144

Removal

Remove cross-member for transmission mounting. See 22 32 050 Replacing Cross-Member For Transmission Mounting .

Position special tool 22 1 016 on opening (2) and twist in screw (3) hand-tight against housing.

Pull out rubber mount with special tools 22 1 011 / 33 3 144 and nut (1).

Nut (1) = nut M 12x1.5 of rubber mount screw M12x1.5x220.

Scheme 627

Arrow on rubber mount must point to arrow on housing.

Coat housing bore and rubber mount with Circolight.

Insert special tool 22 1 012 with pin into openings in rubber mount.

Scheme 629

Pull in rubber mount with special tools 22 1 012 / 22 1 012 / 22 1 013 and 33 3 144.

From rubber mount screw M12x1.5x220, use nut (1) M12x1.5.

22 32 050 Replacing cross-member for transmission mounting

Remove exhaust system. See EXHAUST SYSTEM - REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS .

Remove heat shield at front left and right.

Support transmission with hydraulic lifter.

Release nut (1) and remove screw.

Scheme 631

Unscrew left and right bolts.

Remove cross-member.
