Control Module, coding (function 07)
Coding A/C Control Head -E87
Note. The basic setting must be performed after each coding operation. Refer to Basic Setting (function 04) . If the display of a newly installed A/C Control Head -E87- flashes (for approx. 2 minutes) after the ignition has been switched on, code the A/C Control Head -E87- and perform basic setting.
- Connect VAG 1551 Scan Tool (ST). Refer to «VAG 1551 Scan Tool (ST), VAS 5051 Vehicle Diagnostic Testing and Information System, connecting and selecting functions»(/audi/tt/8n-1998-2003/remont/ac-compressor/#heating-air-conditioning__vag-1551-scan-tool-st-vas) .
- Press buttons -0- and -8- to insert "AC/Heating Electronics" address word 08 and advance program until "Select function XX" appears on display. - Switch printer on by pressing PRINT button (indicator lamp in button comes on).

- Code A/C Control Head -E87- according to vehicle type, engine and export version. Refer to «Coding»(/audi/tt/8n-1998-2003/remont/ac-compressor/#heating-air-conditioning) .
- Press -Q- button to confirm input.

After a short delay, the control module identification (version), coding and dealership number (where the control module was coded) are displayed ("Klimavollautomat" = fully automatic air conditioner).
- Perform basic setting. Refer to «Basic Setting (function 04)»(/audi/tt/8n-1998-2003/remont/ac-compressor/#heating-air-conditioning__basic-setting-function-04) .
Note. Any invalid codes entered in the A/C Control Head -E87- are ignored and coding "00001" is stored as a default. Allocation of the A/C Control Head -E87- (dependent on vehicle equipment).
