Steering Column Adjustment Switch, Removing and Installing
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
- T8 screwdriver T40056 A
Removing
| CAUTION | Follow safety precautions when working on knee airbag --> 69 - PASSENGER PROTECTION - AIRBAGS, SEAT BELTS . |
- Remove drivers storage compartment --> «68 - INTERIOR EQUIPMENT»(/audi/s8/d3-2007-2011/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#body-interior) .
- Adjust steering wheel downward and to rear as far as possible, use entire adjustment range of steering column adjustment for this.
Scheme 274
- Remove bolts - 3 - and - 4 - using T8 screwdriver T40056 A.
- Remove TORX bolt - 5 -.
- Disconnect upper trim - 2 - for steering column switch from lower trim - 1 - and remove both sections.
- Disconnect electrical harness connector at lower trim.
Note. Steering wheel has been removed in illustration.
Scheme 275
- Remove screws - arrows -.
- Remove Steering Column Adjustment Switch E167 - item 1 - upward from bottom trim.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following
- Install drivers storage compartment --> «68 - INTERIOR EQUIPMENT»(/audi/s8/d3-2007-2011/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#body-interior) .
