Scheme 15

1. Bumper Cover NOTE: Note different versions. The transport brace must be removed before painting and installing an S-line bumper. On some versions, the side parts of the bumper can be replaced individually. Refer to «BUMPER COVER SIDE COMPONENTS»(/audi/q5/i-2008-2012/remont/exterior-body-panels/#bumpers__bumper-cover-side-components) . Before removing, the upper lock carrier cover must be removed. Refer to «LOCK CARRIER COVER»(/audi/q5/i-2008-2012/remont/exterior-body-panels/#bumpers) -- Remove the upper screws -2- and the lower screws -6- on the end plate. Refer to «FRONT BUMPER COVER END PLATE»(/audi/q5/i-2008-2012/remont/exterior-body-panels/#bumpers__front-bumper-cover-end-plate) . -- Loosen the wheel housing liner in the area of the screws -5-, push it back «PUSH BACK WHEEL HOUSING LINER»(/audi/q5/i-2008-2012/remont/exterior-body-panels/#bumpers) and remove the screws -5-. -- Unclip cover sideways from the bracket on the transition to the fender. -- Pull the cover slightly forward and disconnect the connectors for the fog lamps and for the parking sensor, if applicable. -- Disconnect the headlamp washer system wire, if applicable. -- Remove the cover forward.
2. Bolt 4 Nm.
3. Noise Insulation
4. Fender Mount -- The bumper cover must engage between the mount and the fender when installed.
5. Bolt 2.5 Nm.
6. Bolt 5 Nm.
7. Spring Nut

Remove the wheel housing liner screws and push it to the side.

Remove the cover screws.

Remove the bumper cover. Refer to LOCK CARRIER COVER .

If the gap dimension is not even, loosen the adjusting screw -2-, adjust the cover and radiator grille -1- and then tighten the screw.

Check the gap dimension again and repeat the adjustment if necessary.

10. Clips Unclip on both sides before removing the bumper cover to the rear.

BUMPER COVER TRANSPORT BRACE, S-LINE

Remove the transport brace -2- from the left -arrow- and right cover -1- before painting.

1. Bolt 2.5 Nm
2. Front Spoiler Bumper cover and end plate removed. -- Disengage the lower spoiler locking mechanisms one by one on the bumper and radiator grille and then remove the spoiler. -- All the locking mechanisms must engage correctly when installing the spoiler as illustrated -arrows-.
3. End Plate -- Remove the screws -1- and remove the end plate.

BUMPER COVER SIDE COMPONENTS

Note. In order to disassemble the individual components, the bumper cover must be completely removed.

1. Front Spoiler Removal and Installation, refer to «FRONT SPOILER»(/audi/q5/i-2008-2012/remont/exterior-body-panels/#bumpers)
2. Bolt 2.5 Nm
3. End Plate Removed with the bumper cover. Remove the screws on the spoiler and remove it to the rear.
4. Connection Clipped into the radiator grille at the bottom
5. Right Air Intake Grille To remove, insert a screwdriver an at angle from underneath into the opening on the top, pry it upward and loosen the cover. Beginning at the top of the radiator grille, remove the air intake grille from the cover.
6. Right Bumper Cover Remove the screws on the radiator grille, unclip the spoiler locking mechanisms at the bottom and remove it sideways from the connecting piece.
7. Radiator Grille Removal and Installation, refer to «RADIATOR GRILLE»(/audi/q5/i-2008-2012/remont/mirrors/#exterior-equipment)
8. Bolt 2.5 Nm
9. Left Bumper Cover Remove the screws on the radiator grille, unclip the spoiler locking mechanisms at the bottom and remove it sideways from the connecting piece.
10. Left Air Intake Grille Removal is the same as for the right grille

Scheme 23

1. Lock Carrier Cover Removing Remove the clamping pins for the expanding clips. Remove the expanding clips from the cover. Lift the rear cover and remove it from the radiator grille. Installing -- Install the cover on the radiator grille, install the expanding clips and push the screws all the way in.

FRONT BUMPER COVER END PLATE

Removing

Remove the bolts -1- and -2-.

Remove the end plate to the rear.

Installation

1. Tightening specifications, refer to «FRONT NOISE INSULATION ASSEMBLY OVERVIEW»(/audi/q5/i-2008-2012/remont/mirrors/#exterior-equipment) .

To install, perform the steps used in removal in reverse order.

Scheme 25

1. Nut 4 Nm Remove front bumper cover. Remove the nuts -1- and remove the front bracket.

AIR INTAKE GRILLE

Removing

Open the locking mechanisms -arrow- with a screwdriver.

Remove the air intake grille -2- from the bumper cover -1-.

IMPACT MEMBER

Note. Attach all cable ties at the same locations when installing.

Remove front bumper cover.

Disconnect the electrical connector -4- on the horns and free up the electrical wiring harness -3- on the horn bracket.

Free up the washer nozzle water drain hose by disconnecting the cable tie -1-.

Remove the bolts -arrows- and the bumper cover spacer -2-.

Remove the impact bar -5- from the mounts.

Installation

1. Tightening specifications, refer to «IMPACT BAR ASSEMBLY OVERVIEW»(/audi/q5/i-2008-2012/remont/exterior-body-panels/#bumpers__impact-bar-assembly-overview) .

Install the front bumper cover.

1. Bolt 55 Nm
2. Side Impact Bar Removal and Installation, refer to «IMPACT MEMBER»(/audi/q5/i-2008-2012/remont/exterior-body-panels/#bumpers__impact-member) .
3. Impact Member Bracket Removing -- Mark the installation position of the lock carrier bracket. -- Remove front bumper cover. -- Remove the impact member -2-. -- Remove the bolts -1-. -- Remove the locating bolt -4-. -- Remove the impact member bracket on the lock carrier. Installing Tightening specifications, refer to «IMPACT BAR ASSEMBLY OVERVIEW»(/audi/q5/i-2008-2012/remont/exterior-body-panels/#bumpers__impact-bar-assembly-overview) . -- Install the impact member bracket according to the marking made during removal. -- Install the impact member. Refer to «IMPACT MEMBER»(/audi/q5/i-2008-2012/remont/exterior-body-panels/#bumpers__impact-member) . -- Install the front bumper cover.
4. Locating Bolt 5 Nm

REAR BUMPER COVER

Removing

Disconnect the electrical connector -1- on the parking aid control module, if applicable.

Free up the electrical wiring harness on the control module bracket -arrow- by disconnect the cable tie -2-.

Press the grommet -3- outward.

Remove the nuts -3- from the threaded pins on the cover -1-.

Remove the screws -1- on the upper cover and at the bottom of the spoiler.

Remove the bolts -1- on the lower bumper cover section.

Unclip the left and right cover on the rear lid end piece. Refer to REAR BUMPER COVER ASSEMBLY OVERVIEW

Unclip the left and right cover from the guides.

Remove the cover to the rear from the vehicle.

When installing, the side catches on the guide piece -2- must engage completely into the bumper cover -1

Scheme 33

Connect the electrical connector on the parking aid control module if applicable. Refer to [For engine(s) CAEB, CALB] Removal and Installation .

Install the taillamps. Refer to [For engine(s) CAEB, CALB] Removal and Installation .

1. Spoiler -- Remove the bolts -3-. -- To remove, release the catches -arrows- one by one and remove them from the bumper cover. -- When installing, the clips -arrow- must engage completely into the bumper cover.

1. Side Impact Bar For vehicles without a trailer hitch -- Remove the rear bumper cover. Refer to «REAR BUMPER COVER»(/audi/q5/i-2008-2012/remont/exterior-body-panels/#bumpers__rear-bumper-cover) . -- Remove the bolts -1- by counterholding the nuts -3-. -- Remove the impact member.

Refer to «Removal and Installation»(/audi/q5/i-2008-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior-trim) . -- Loosen the left and right luggage compartment side trim in the rear area. Refer to «Removal and Installation»(/audi/q5/i-2008-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior-trim) . -- Remove the bolts -3- and remove the impact member and mounts.

1. Trailer Hitch with Crossmember Removing -- Remove the rear bumper cover. Refer to «REAR BUMPER COVER»(/audi/q5/i-2008-2012/remont/exterior-body-panels/#bumpers__rear-bumper-cover) . -- Remove the tie-downs. Refer to «Removal and Installation»(/audi/q5/i-2008-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior-trim) . -- Loosen the left and right luggage compartment side trim in the rear area. Refer to «Removal and Installation»(/audi/q5/i-2008-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior-trim) . -- Remove the trailer hitch socket. Refer to «Removal and Installation»(/audi/q5/i-2008-2012/remont/door-locks-anti-theft-systems/#interior-lights-switches-general-information) . -- Remove the lever bracket. -- Disengage the cable on the ball head coupling. -- Remove the bolts -3- and remove the trailer hitch to the rear.
2. Release When installing, press the grommet correctly into the rear lid end piece.

Hand Actuator Bracket

1. Hand Actuator Bracket -- Remove the rear bumper cover. Refer to «REAR BUMPER COVER»(/audi/q5/i-2008-2012/remont/exterior-body-panels/#bumpers__rear-bumper-cover) . -- To remove, remove bolts -2-. -- Disengage the cable on the ball head coupling and pull it through toward the inside.

5. Actuating l Lever -- To remove, pull off the circlip. -- When installing, the circlip must lock in the lever.
