Wiring, Checking

1. Connect test box VAG1598/31 to wiring harness of Engine Control Module (ECM) --> «Wire and Component Test at Engine Control Module using VAG 1598/31»(ref-289208-S32498292062008062700000) .
2. Check the following wire connection for open circuit/short circuit

1. Repair open circuit in wiring or short circuit if necessary. --> Electrical Wiring Diagrams, Troubleshooting and Component Locations
2. Check wires for short circuit to each other, to vehicle Ground (GND) and to B+.

Specified value: infinity ohms (no continuity)

If no malfunction is detected in the wiring and if the voltage supply was OK

1. Replace accelerator pedal module --> «Accelerator Pedal Module with Throttle Position Sensor and Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor 2, Removing and Installing»(ref-289208-S12852759422008062700000) .
2. Erase DTC memory of Engine Control Module (ECM) --> «Diagnostic Mode 04 - Erase DTC Memory»(ref-289208-S38443625612008062700000) .
3. Generate readiness code --> «Readiness Code, Generating»(ref-289208-S31500925522008062700000) .

1. Connect test box VAG1598/31 to wiring harness of Engine Control Module (ECM) --> «Wire and Component Test at Engine Control Module using VAG 1598/31»(ref-289208-S32498292062008062700000) .
2. Check the following wire connection for open circuit/short circuit

1. Repair open circuit in wiring or short circuit if necessary. --> Electrical Wiring Diagrams, Troubleshooting and Component Locations
2. If wire connection is OK, replace Engine Control Module (ECM) --> «Engine Control Module, Replacing»(ref-289208-S06773057402008062700000) and generate readiness code again --> «Readiness Code, Generating»(ref-289208-S31500925522008062700000) .
