Right Cylinder Head, Removing Audi A8 D3

Note. Secure all hose connections with correct hose clips (same as original equipment) Replace all cable ties which are opened or cut during removal in the same position when installing. REPLACE CYLINDER HEAD BOLTS. Always replace seals, gaskets, self-locking nuts and bolts with specified tightening instructions. When installing a new cylinder head or cylinder head gasket, drain all old coolant and re-fill with new coolant.

1. Drain coolant. See «COOLING SYSTEM, DRAINING AND FILLING»(ref-196866-S33984552662005100900000).
2. Remove toothed belt guard.
3. Disconnect connector -1- from Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor. see scheme 132
4. Disconnect connector -2-.
5. Disconnect connector -3-. see scheme 132
6. Remove toothed belt from camshafts. See «TOOTHED BELT, REMOVING FROM CAMSHAFT SPROCKETS»(ref-196865-S06154153362005100900000).
7. Remove idler wheel -1-.
8. Remove toothed belt cover -arrows-.
9. Disconnect connectors -1- from ignition coils. see scheme 134
10. Remove bracket -2-.
11. Remove ignition coils -3-.
12. Disconnect crankcase breather hose.
13. Remove cylinder head cover.
14. Remove coolant line -arrows-.
15. Remove left exhaust pipe with catalytic converter. See «FRONT EXHAUST PIPE WITH THREE WAY CATALYTIC (TWC) CONVERTER (LEFT SIDE), REMOVING AND INSTALLING»(ref-196867-S15702399482005100900000).
16. Disconnect connector -1-. see scheme 136
17. Disconnect hose -2-.
18. Remove bracket -3-. see scheme 136
19. Disconnect connector -4-.
20. Disconnect ground cable -5- at cylinder head. see scheme 136
21. Remove bolts -6-.
22. Disconnect hose -7- from combination valve.
23. Remove bolts -8-. see scheme 136
24. Disconnect connector -9-.
25. Remove coolant line.
26. Loosen cylinder head bolt in numerical sequence.
27. Remove cylinder head and place on soft surface.
