Installing
Install in reverse sequence; note the following points
Note. The following steps need to be performed after connecting the new engine control module
- Check Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory and erase, if necessary. See «DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) MEMORY, CHECKING»(/audi/a6/c5-2001-2004/remont/testing-diagnostics/#on-board-diagnostic-obd-30l-v6-avk__diagnostic-trouble-code-dtc-memory-checking) .
- Observe notes for coding new Engine Control Module (ECM). See «ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM), CODING»(/audi/a6/c5-2001-2004/remont/testing-diagnostics/#on-board-diagnostic-obd-30l-v6-avk__engine-control-module-ecm-coding) .
- For vehicles with cruise control (discernible at steering column), switch this free in ECM. See «CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM (CCS), ACTIVATING/DEACTIVATING»(/audi/a6/c5-2001-2004/remont/testing-diagnostics/#on-board-diagnostic-obd-30l-v6-avk__cruise-control-system-ccs-activatingdeactivating) .
- Check whether the hot country function (activation of after -run coolant pump) is activated in Function "11 - Coding II". See «HOT-COUNTRY FUNCTION, ACTIVATING / DEACTIVATING»(/audi/a6/c5-2001-2004/remont/testing-diagnostics/#on-board-diagnostic-obd-30l-v6-avk__hot-country-function-activating-deactivating) .
- Perform adaptation of the Throttle Valve Control Module -J338-. See «THROTTLE VALVE CONTROL MODULE, ADAPTATION»(/audi/a6/c5-2001-2004/remont/cruise-control-systems/#multiport-fuel-injection-mfi-30l-v6-avk__throttle-valve-control-module-adaptation) .
- For vehicles with automatic transmission, the kick down function must be adapted. See «KICKDOWN FUNCTION, ADAPTATION»(/audi/a6/c5-2001-2004/remont/cruise-control-systems/#multiport-fuel-injection-mfi-30l-v6-avk__kickdown-function-adaptation) .
- Activate the engine control module via the "Guided troubleshooting" function (diagnosis object "Replacing engine control module").
- Generate readiness code. See «READINESS CODE, GENERATING»(/audi/a6/c5-2001-2004/remont/testing-diagnostics/#on-board-diagnostic-obd-30l-v6-avk) .
