Electronics box in plenum chamber, removing and installing

Removing

1. Remove rubber seal of plenum chamber cover in direction of - arrow -.
2. Remove plenum chamber cover - 1 - to front.

1. Use screwdriver to pry off the two caps - 3 -.
2. Loosen nuts - 4 - (do not remove).
3. Remove wiper arms - 2 - from wiper shaft by tilting slightly.
4. Remove nuts completely and remove wiper arms.

1. Pull off retaining clips - 1 - and detach cowl panel grille - 5 -.

1. Remove cover for electronics box in plenum chamber - arrows -.

Scheme 391

1. Use screwdriver to pry off retaining strap - arrows -.

Scheme 392

1. Release connector locks tabs - arrows - and disconnect electrical connections - 1 - and - 2 - for Motronic Engine Control Module (ECM) J220 (where applicable).
2. Where applicable, release retaining clip for transmission control module.

1. Release connector lock - arrow - and disconnect from transmission control module.

Scheme 394

1. Disconnect electrical connections - 2 - at rear of connector console.
2. Remove wire - 1 -.

Scheme 395

1. Release retaining clips - arrows - and lift auxiliary relay carrier out of electronics box.
2. Remove the engine wiring harness at electronics box and bulkhead and set aside.

Scheme 396

1. Remove nuts - arrows -.
2. Lift electronics box and remove upwards.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal.
