- Remove timing belt. See «TIMING BELT»(ref-49282-S30921814242001091300000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove engine undercover. Remove engine oil dipstick. Unscrew engine oil dipstick tube and pull up and out of crankcase. Remove vibration damper from crankshaft sprocket.
- Remove crankshaft sprocket. Remove timing belt idler and tensioner rollers. Disconnect wiring, hoses, lines and cables as necessary for removal. Remove oil filter. Detach oil cooler under oil filter and pull from banjo bolt. Remove both front bolts from engine support, being prepared for crossmember to drop 3/8". NOTE: When removing 4 countersunk oil pan screws, DO NOT remove coolant drain screw. (Схема №9)
- Remove starter bolts, leaving wiring connected. Unbolt and remove lower section of oil pan. (Схема №7) Unbolt upper section of oil pan and oil suction tube. If upper section of oil pan cannot be pulled downward, unscrew right drive shaft cover and pull lower starter bolt backward. Right drive shaft may have to be unbolted from gearbox. Unbolt and remove oil pump.
Inspection
If irregular valve noise can be heard during stop-and-go driving but cannot be heard during cruise, replace oil pan check valves. See OIL PAN .
