Attach the seat to the VAS 6136.

Release cover cap -1- in -direction of arrow-.
Remove the wiring bracket -3- upward from the connector station.

Release clip in -direction of arrow- with a small screwdriver and disconnect side airbag electrical connector -1-.
Connect the VAS 6235 to the side airbag electrical connector on the seat. Refer to AIRBAG ADAPTER, CONNECTING .
Note. Ensure airbag adapter engages correctly.

Release cover cap -1- in -direction of arrow-.
Remove wiring bracket -3-.
Release clip in -direction of arrow- with a small screwdriver and disconnect electrical connector -1- with side airbag terminal resistance.
Note. The terminal resistance for the side airbag is a component of the wiring harness.
Press in tab on connector for heated seat -2- on tunnel side and disconnect connector for heated seat.
Country versions of seat belt fasten sensor: Press the tab on the seat belt fasten sensor connector on the tunnel side and disconnect the seat belt fasten sensor connector.

Mount the VAS 6136 on the VAS 6095.
Attach the seat to the VAS 6136.
FRONT MANUAL SEAT
Removing

Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition off. Refer to [For engine(s) CBRA, BPY, CCTA, CBFA] Removal and Installation .
Bring headrest into lowest lock position.
Pull the handle for the forward/back adjustment -2- and move the seat -4- all the way back.

Remove the front screws -1- and -3-.
Pull the handle for the seat forward/back adjustment and move the seat all the way forward.
Remove the rear screws -5- and -6-.
Tip seat backward.

Disconnect the electrical connectors at the connector station in the floor. Refer to CONNECTORS, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
Connect the VAS 6235 to the side airbag electrical connector on the seat. Refer to AIRBAG ADAPTER, CONNECTING .
Raise the seat with a 2nd technician and remove it from the vehicle.
Installation

Remove the front seat bolts

Note. The electrical connectors for the front seat must not be loosened.
Front Seat Rail Cover

Carefully lift the securing clip -2- -arrow A-.
Remove the seat rail cover -3- from the seat rail guide -1- -arrow B-.
Rear Seat Rail Cover

Turn the backrest adjustment wheel -1- until a locking mechanism is visible from behind -arrow A-. It may be necessary to use a flashlight.
Hook in 3399 -item 2- and pry in -direction of arrow B-.
Turn backrest adjustment wheel -1- about 120° more.
Hook in 3399 -item 2- again and pry in -direction of arrow B-.
Remove backrest adjustment wheel -1-.
Installation
Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following
Hand wheel must be pressed on until it audibly engages.
Note. If the hand wheel for backrest adjustment sits loosely on the adjustment shaft, the hand wheel for backrest adjustment must be replaced.
SILL SIDE TRIM
Removing

Remove backrest adjustment wheel. Refer to BACKREST ADJUSTING WHEEL .
Remove seat height adjustment handle. Refer to SEAT HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT HANDLE .
Open the storage compartment -1-.
Push the stop for the opening -3- to the side and move the storage compartment all the way down.
Disconnect the storage compartment pivot, while doing this, carefully push the bracket -2- slightly to the side -arrow A-.
Pull the storage compartment forward and out -arrow B-.
Remove the bolts -2- and -3- on the side trim on the door sill side.

Remove the backrest cover -1- on the trim -2- -arrow-.

Bring seat as far up as possible.

Remove front seat

- Power seat, refer to «POWER SEAT»(ref-496057-S40242894112012082100000)
Secure the seat on the VAS 6136. Refer to FRONT SEAT, INSTALLING ON VAS 6136 .
Move the seat rail all the way to the front so that the bolt for the seat belt latch is accessible.
If applicable, free up the electrical wire -2-.

Release the spring clamps for the backrest cover -1- using the 80 - 200 up to the first retainer -arrows A-.
Note. The spring clamps (with hooks) can be removed only up to the first retainer.
In order to remove the spring clamps (with hooks) -2-, push the backrest cover in -direction of arrow B-.
Pull the backrest cover -1- upward slightly and then swivel it to the rear -arrows-.

Secure the seat on the VAS 6136. Refer to FRONT SEAT, INSTALLING ON VAS 6136 .
Remove side trim on sill side. Refer to SILL SIDE TRIM .
Remove side trim on tunnel side. Refer to TUNNEL SIDE TRIM .
Remove backrest cover panel. Refer to BACKREST COVER .

Disconnect the rubber strap -2- on the cloth strip -1- on the seat pan.
Disconnect the left and right rubber straps -1- and -2-.

Where applicable, disconnect the electrical connector for the seat heating.
If applicable, connect the VAS 6281 -item 2- to the side airbag electrical connector -1-.

Free up the electrical wiring harness on the seat pan.

Press the upholstery to the side and carefully remove the side airbag wire and, if necessary, all additional wires (depending on optional equipment) on the seat pan.

Lay plastic film -1- over Velcro strips -2- on four-way lumbar support. Secure the plastic sheet on the four-way lumbar support.

Position lumbar support frame behind backrest and engage lumbar support frame at top left and right in mounts on frame.
Rivet the lower frame for the four-way lumbar support to the backrest frame.

Remove the bolts -2- and -3- on the side trim on the door sill side.

Operate seat fore and aft adjustment and guide seat as far forward as possible.

Remove bolts -arrows- on inner part of belt guide.

Remove inner part of belt guide -1-.
Rotate inner part of belt guide and release retaining tabs -arrows-.

Remove bracket -3- for backrest lock actuating link on inner part of belt guide.

Disengage actuating link -1- in -direction of arrow-.
Repeat work steps on opposite side.

REAR BENCH SEAT

Lift the rear bench seat -1- at the front and pull it forward.
Installation
Installation is in reverse order of removal, noting the following

Engage anchoring eyes -2- (quantity: 2) in plastic sleeves -3- (quantity: 2).
Push the rear bench seat -1- down.
