SEAT PAN, DISASSEMBLING AND ASSEMBLING
Disassembling
| WARNING | Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components. Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin. |
Remove front seat. Refer to POWER SEAT .
Secure the seat on the VAS 6136. Refer to FRONT SEAT, INSTALLING ON VAS 6136 .
Remove the backrest. Refer to BACKREST .
Remove cover with seat pan upholstery. Refer to SEAT PAN COVER AND UPHOLSTERY .
Disconnect electrical connectors if necessary.
Replacing the Seat Pan Upper Frame
Remove wiring harnesses and individual wires from seat pan upper frame.
Continuation, Replacing Upper or Lower Frame
Scheme 26
Remove bolts -1, 4, 5-.
Remove seat pan upper frame -2- upward from lower frame -3-.
Be careful of the bushings -1- in the bearing locations on the seat pan lower frame -2-.
Scheme 27
| CAUTION | Do not damage bushings -1- inserted in all bearing points when separating or disassembling upper and lower frame. The bushings cannot be replaced with workshop materials. If the bushings are damaged, replace the corresponding components. |
Remove the seat height adjustment motor. Refer to SEAT HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT MOTOR .
Remove the seat inclination adjustment motor. Refer to SEAT ANGLE ADJUSTMENT MOTOR .
Assembling
| WARNING | Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components. |
Assembling is performed in reverse sequence of removal, thereby noting the following
Install the seat height adjustment motor that was removed in the new seat pan lower frame. Refer to SEAT HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT MOTOR .
Install the seat inclination adjustment motor that was removed in the new seat pan lower frame. Refer to SEAT ANGLE ADJUSTMENT MOTOR .
Do not damage the bushings -1- on the seat pan lower frame -2- during the remaining assembly steps.
| CAUTION | The bushings cannot be replaced with workshop materials. If the bushings are damaged, replace the corresponding components. |
| WARNING | Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, connecting electrical connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin. |
Note. Ensure that electrical connections are pushed in as far as stop and engage with a click.
| WARNING | Connect the battery with the ignition switched on. Pyrotechnic components could deploy after connecting the battery if they were not repaired correctly. Individuals must not be inside the vehicle when connecting the battery. |
Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition switched on. Refer to [For engine(s) CBRA, BPY, CCTA, CBFA] Removal and Installation .
Note. If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) -K75- indicates a fault after installation, DTC memory must be checked, deleted and checked again.
