SEAT HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT HANDLE
Removing
Scheme 7
Remove the front seat bolts and tilt the seat as far back as possible.
Note. The electrical connectors for the front seat must not be loosened.
Push seat height adjustment handle down and hold in this position.
Using a narrow screwdriver, press clips -1- inward -arrow A- and remove seat height adjustment handle -2- from lever -arrow B-.
Installation

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following
Make sure the clip springs -2- (quantity: 2) -3- are positioned on outside of lever -1-.
LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTMENT MOTOR, VERSION 2
Removing

Note. When replacing the lumbar support adjustment motor, the four-way lumbar support must not be at an end position.
Remove backrest cover panel. Refer to BACKREST COVER .
Disconnect the connector -1-.
Disengage retaining bracket -2- using a screwdriver and remove actuator -3- upward.
Installation
Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following
- The lumbar support adjustment motor can be installed in one position only.
SEAT HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT UNIT

Remove the seat. Refer to FRONT MANUAL SEAT .
Secure the seat on the VAS 6136. Refer to FRONT SEAT, INSTALLING ON VAS 6136 .
Remove side trim on sill side. Refer to SILL SIDE TRIM .
Remove nut -5-.

Remove bolts -2, 3, 6-.
Remove seat height adjustment unit -1- and retaining plate -4-.
Note. If the seat height adjustment unit is being exchanged, remove the bolts -arrows- and remove the lever -7-.
Installation

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following

Note. If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) -K75- indicates a fault after installation, DTC memory must be checked, deleted and checked again.
FRONT SEAT WITH FAULTY FORWARD/BACK ADJUSTMENT MOTOR
Removing

Note. Removing the driver seat is described. Removing the passenger seat is identical.

Bring headrest into lowest lock position.
Move the seat as far up as possible.
The seat cannot be moved as far up as possible, disconnect the upper frame from the seat pan lower frame. Refer to SEAT PAN, DISASSEMBLING AND ASSEMBLING .
- The sill side trim -1- is removed. Refer to «SILL SIDE TRIM»(ref-496057-S31475727852012082100000) .
Remove the bolts -3- for the cross bar -2- on both sides.
Disconnect the electrical connector on the seat forward/back adjustment motor.
Move seat until bolts -4- (quantity: 4) are visible.
Remove the bolts -4-.
Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition off. Refer to [For engine(s) CBRA, BPY, CCTA, CBFA] Removal and Installation .

Disconnect the electrical connectors at the connector station in the floor. Refer to CONNECTORS, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
Connect the VAS 6235 to the side airbag electrical connector on the seat. Refer to AIRBAG ADAPTER, CONNECTING .
Raise the seat with a 2nd technician and remove it from the vehicle.
Installation

If the forward/back adjustment motor is motor: Install la new lower seat pan frame with forward/back motor. Refer to SEAT PAN, DISASSEMBLING AND ASSEMBLING .
Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following
Remove VAS 6235 only after installing seat. Refer to AIRBAG ADAPTER, CONNECTING .
Note. Ensure that electrical connections are pushed in as far as stop and engage with a click.
Connect the connector to the couplings on the connector station in the floor. Refer to CONNECTORS, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

The removing and installing is described for the mechanically adjustable front power seat. It is identical for the adjustable front power seat.
SEAT ANGLE ADJUSTMENT MOTOR

Remove the seat. Refer to POWER SEAT .
Secure the seat on the VAS 6136. Refer to FRONT SEAT, INSTALLING ON VAS 6136 .
Remove bolts -arrows-.

Remove the retaining plate -4-.
Remove the bolt -2-.
Disconnect electrical harness connector -3-.
Remove the seat angle adjustment motor -1-.

Note. If motor is faulty, lower seat pan frame must be replaced.

Remove the seat. Refer to POWER SEAT .
Secure the seat on the VAS 6136. Refer to FRONT SEAT, INSTALLING ON VAS 6136 .
Separate the seat pan upper frame from the lower frame. Refer to SEAT PAN, DISASSEMBLING AND ASSEMBLING .
Note. The inclination adjustment motor and height adjustment motor must be installed in the new seat pan lower frame.
Remove the inclination adjustment motor -1-. Refer to SEAT ANGLE ADJUSTMENT MOTOR .

Remove the height adjustment motor -3-. Refer to SEAT HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT MOTOR .

Installation

Install the height adjustment motor -3- that was removed in the new seat pan lower frame -4-.
Install the inclination adjustment motor -1- that was removed in the new seat pan lower frame.
Further installation is performed in reverse sequence of removal, but observe the following

Remove the seat. Refer to POWER SEAT .
Secure the seat on the VAS 6136. Refer to FRONT SEAT, INSTALLING ON VAS 6136 .
Remove side trim on sill side. Refer to SILL SIDE TRIM .
Remove side trim on tunnel side. Refer to TUNNEL SIDE TRIM .
Remove the backrest. Refer to BACKREST .
Disconnect the electrical connector -4- on the seat height adjustment motor -2-.
Scheme 14
Disconnect seat pan upper frame -1- from lower frame -3-.
Remove seat pan upper frame with cover and upholstery from lower frame.
Remove the bolts -2-.
Scheme 15
Pull the height adjustment motor -1- toward the center of the seat and remove from the seat pan lower frame -3-.
Installation

Make sure the clip -arrow A- and plastic toothed segment collar -2- and the locking pins -B arrows- are inserted correctly in the holes on the fitting -1-.

Make sure the plastic toothed segment is clipped to the fitting correctly.
- The plastic toothed segment collar -arrow C- must lie evenly on the fitting.
Make sure the locking pins -A arrows- are inserted correctly in the holes -B arrows- on the link plate -1-.

BACKREST ADJUSTMENT MOTOR
Removing

Remove the backrest. Refer to BACKREST .
Remove backrest cover panel. Refer to BACKREST COVER .
Remove cover with upholstery. Refer to BACKREST COVER AND UPHOLSTERY .
Pry off the spring washer -1- on the side of the backrest adjustment motor using a screwdriver.
Scheme 18
Remove the bolt -2-.
Remove the shaft -5- out the backrest frame far enough -arrow- until the backrest adjustment motor -3- is comes out.
Disconnect electrical harness connector -4-.
Remove the backrest adjustment motor.
Installation

Slide shaft -5- through backrest adjustment motor and backrest frame.
Secure the backrest adjustment motor -3- with the bolt -2-.
Place the backrest frame to the side.
Place a wood block under the shaft -5- on the opposite side of the backrest adjustment motor.
Drive the spring washer -1- onto the shaft using a socket insert (11 mm).
Further installation is performed in reverse sequence of removal, but observe the following

SEAT ADJUSTMENT ACTUATOR
Note. The seat adjustment actuator can be removed and installed with the seat installed. Removal and installation is the same on the driver and passenger seat.

Using the 3409, pry the actuator -1- out of the retainer on the seat forward/back, angle and height adjustment switch.
Installation
Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following

BACKREST ADJUSTMENT ACTUATOR
Note. The backrest adjustment actuator can be removed and installed with the seat installed. Removal and installation is the same on the driver and passenger seat.

Using the 3409, pry the actuator -1- out of the retainer on the backrest adjustment switch.
Installation

Remove the switch -1- for the seat forward/back, angle, height and backrest adjustment.
Installation

BACKREST ADJUSTMENT HAND WHEEL

Press side panel -2- lightly in direction of backrest.
Slightly lift and disengage retaining detent -1- using a screwdriver.
Turn backrest adjustment hand wheel -3- and disengage another retaining detent.
Remove hand wheel for backrest adjustment.
Installation
Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following
Hand wheel must be pressed on until it audibly engages.
Note. If the hand wheel for backrest adjustment sits loosely on the adjustment shaft, the hand wheel for backrest adjustment must be replaced.
