Note. Use fender covers to avoid damaging painted surfaces. To avoid damaging the wiring and terminals, unplug the wiring connectors carefully while holding the connector portion. Mark all wiring and hoses to avoid misconnection. Also, be sure that they do not contact other wiring or hoses, or interfere with other parts.

- Open the hood, and secure it with the hood support rod (A) in the wide-open position (B).
- Relieve the fuel pressure (see «FUEL PRESSURE RELIEVING»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/fuel-system/#fuel-supply-system-4-cyl__fuel-pressure-relieving) ).
- Remove the front grille cover (see «FRONT GRILLE COVER REPLACEMENT»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#exterior-trim-4-cyl__front-grille-cover-replacement) ).
- Do the battery removal procedure (see «BATTERY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/body-electrical/#battery-4-cyl__battery-removal-and-installation) ).
- Remove the air cleaner (see «AIR CLEANER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/mechanical/#intake-air-system-4-cyl) ).
- Remove the strut brace (see «STRUT BRACE REPLACEMENT»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/exterior-body-panels/#frame-4-cyl) ).
- Remove the harness clamps (A).
- Disconnect the ECM/PCM connectors (B).
- Remove the ECM/PCM assembly (C) with the bracket.
- Remove the battery cables (A) from the under-hood fuse/relay box.
- Remove the harness clamps (B).
- Disconnect the starter subharness connector (C), then remove the connector from the bracket.
- Disconnect the engine wire harness connector (D).
- Disconnect the EVAP canister hose (A) and the brake booster vacuum hose (B).
- Remove the quick-connect fitting cover (A), then disconnect the fuel feed hose (B) (see «FUEL LINE/QUICK-CONNECT FITTING REMOVAL»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/fuel-system/#fuel-supply-system-4-cyl__fuel-linequick-connect-fitting-removal) ).
- M/T model: Remove the shift cable (see «TRANSMISSION INSTALLATION»(ref-475400-S31595137952012052300000) ). Do not bend the cables excessively.
- M/T model: Remove the clutch slave cylinder and the clutch line bracket mounting bolt (see «TRANSMISSION INSTALLATION»(ref-475400-S31595137952012052300000) ).
- Remove the drive belt (see «DRIVE BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/charging-system/#charging-system-4-cyl__drive-belt-removalinstallation) ).
- Remove the radiator cap.
- Raise the vehicle on the lift.
- Remove the front wheels.
- Remove the front splash shield.
- Loosen the drain plug in the radiator, and drain the engine coolant (see «COOLANT CHECK»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/cooling-fan/#engine-cooling-system-4-cyl) ).
- Drain the engine oil (see «ENGINE OIL REPLACEMENT»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/lubrication-system/#engine-lubrication-4-cyl) ).
- Drain the transmission fluid: Manual transmission (see «TRANSMISSION FLUID INSPECTION AND REPLACEMENT»(ref-475400-S22335189602012052300000) ) Automatic transmission (see «ATF REPLACEMENT»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/automatic-trans/#automatic-transmission-4-cyl) )
- Remove exhaust pipe A.
- A/T model: Remove the shift cable (see «SHIFT CABLE REPLACEMENT»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/automatic-trans/#automatic-transmission-4-cyl) ). Do not bend the shift cable excessively.
- Remove the damper fork (see «LOWER ARM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/suspension-front/#front-suspension-4-cyl__lower-arm-removalinstallation) ).
- Separate the knuckles from the lower arms (see «COMPLIANCE BUSHING REPLACEMENT»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/suspension-front/#front-suspension-4-cyl) ).
- Remove the driveshafts (see «DRIVESHAFT REMOVAL»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/axle-shafts/#drivelineaxle-4-cyl__driveshaft-removal) ). Coat all precision-finished surfaces with new engine oil. Tie plastic bags over the driveshaft ends.
- Disconnect the A/C compressor clutch connector (A), then remove the A/C compressor (B) without disconnecting the A/C hoses. Do not bend the A/C hoses excessively. NOTE: Hang the A/C compressor with a wire tie.
- Lower the vehicle on the lift.
- Remove the bolts securing the steering gearbox.
- Disconnect the upper radiator hose (A) and the heater hoses (B).
- Clean any dirt off the quick connector, the thermostat cover, and the lower radiator hose. Pull out the lock by hand, then wiggle the quick connector loose, and remove it from the thermostat cover. Do not use any tools to remove the quick connector (see «THERMOSTAT REPLACEMENT»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/cooling-fan/#engine-cooling-system-4-cyl) ).
- Remove the ignition coil cover (A) and the brake booster vacuum line mounting bolts (B).
- Attach the engine hanger adapter (VSB02C000015) to the threaded hole in the cylinder head.
- Install the engine support hanger (AAR-T1256) onto the vehicle as shown, and attach the hook to the slotted hole in the engine hanger adapter. Tighten the wing nut (A) by hand, and lift and support the engine/transmission. NOTE: Be careful when working around the windshield. Be careful not to damage the hood opener cable when installing the engine support hanger at the front bulkhead.
- Disconnect the vacuum hose (A) and remove the front engine mount stop (B), then remove the front engine mount mounting bolt (C).
- M/T model: Lift and support the engine/transmission with a jack and a wood block under the engine/transmission. Remove the rear engine mount mounting bolt (A), then remove the mount-to-subframe bolts (B).
- A/T model: Lift and support the engine/transmission with a jack and a wood block under the engine/transmission. Remove the rear engine mount mounting bolt (A), then remove the mount-to-subframe bolts (B).
- A/T model: Remove the rear engine mount upper bracket (C).
- Raise the vehicle on the lift.
- Remove the nuts securing the lower transmission mount.
- Disconnect the ground cable connector at the front of the front subframe.
- Remove the subframe middle mount on both sides.
- Attach the subframe adapter (VSB02C000016) to the front subframe by looping the belt (A) over the front of the front subframe (B), then secure the belt with its stop (C).
- Raise the transmission jack and line up the slots in the front subframe adapter arms with the bolt holes on the transmission jack base, then securely attach them with four bolts.
- Remove the front subframe mounting bolts (A), the four 12 x 1.25 mm bolts (B), (C), and the steering gearbox washers (D) securing four stiffeners (E), then lower the front subframe (F).
- Lower the vehicle on the lift.
- Remove the ground cable (A).
- Remove the side engine mount bracket (B).
- Install the universal lifting eyelet (07AAK-SNAA120) with a 15 mm spacer (A).
- Attach a chain hoist (A) to the universal lifting eyelet (B) and the transmission hanger (C), then lift the engine/transmission until it is securely supported by the chain hoist, and remove the engine support hanger and the engine hanger adapter.
- Remove the upper transmission mount bracket mounting bolts (A). NOTE: Do not remove the TORX bolt (B) from the upper transmission mount. If the TORX bolt is removed, the upper transmission mount must be replaced as an assembly. M/T model A/T model
- Remove the ground cable (C).
- Check that the engine/transmission is completely free of the vacuum hoses, the fuel hoses, the coolant hoses, and the electrical wiring.
- Slowly lower the engine/transmission about 150 mm (5.91 in). Check once again that all the hoses and the electrical wiring are disconnected and free from the engine/transmission, then lower it all the way and support it.
- Disconnect the chain hoist from the engine/transmission.
- Raise the vehicle, and remove the engine/transmission from under the vehicle.

- Install the engine mount brackets and the accessory brackets and tighten their bolts to the specified torque.
- Raise the vehicle on the lift, and position the engine/transmission under the vehicle. Lower the vehicle, and attach the universal lifting eyelet (07AAK-SNAA120) and the chain hoist to the universal lifting eyelet and the transmission hanger, then lift the engine into position in the vehicle. NOTE: Reinstall the mounting bolts/support nuts in the sequence given in the following steps. Failure to follow this sequence may cause excessive noise and vibration, and reduce engine mount life.
- Attach the engine hanger adapter (VSB02C000015) to the threaded hole in the cylinder head.
- Install the engine support hanger (AAR-T1256) onto the vehicle as shown, and attach the hook to the slotted hole in the engine hanger adapter. Tighten the wing nut (A) by hand, and lift and support the engine/transmission. NOTE: Be careful when working around the windshield. Be careful not to damage the hood opener cable when installing the engine support hanger at the front bulkhead.
- Tighten the new upper transmission mount bracket mounting bolts (A) to the specified torque. M/T model A/T model
- Install the ground cable (B).
- Remove the chain hoist.
- Remove the universal lifting eyelet.
- Install the side engine mount bracket (A), and tighten the new side engine mount bracket mounting bolts (B), then tighten the side engine mount mounting bolt (C).
- Install the ground cable (D).
- Raise the vehicle on the lift.
- Support the front subframe (A) with the subframe adapter (VSB02C000016). Position the steering gearbox washers (B) on the front subframe, and raise the front subframe up to the body.
- Loosely install the new subframe mounting bolts (C), the new stiffener mounting bolts (D), and the stiffener mounting bolts (E).
- Install the subframe middle mount (A) on both sides, then loosely tighten the new subframe middle mount mounting bolts (B).
- Remove the transmission jack and the subframe adapter.
- Insert the 15.7 mm side of the subframe alignment pin (070AG-SJAA10S) through the positioning slot (A) on the right rear stiffener, through the positioning hole (B) on the front subframe, and into the positioning hole (C) on the body, then loosely tighten the subframe right rear mounting bolt.
- Insert the 15.7 mm side of the subframe alignment pin through the positioning slot on the left rear stiffener, through the positioning hole on the subframe, and into the positioning hole on the body, then loosely tighten the subframe left rear mounting bolt.
- Using the subframe alignment pin, tighten the subframe right rear mounting bolt.
- Using the subframe alignment pin, tighten the subframe left rear mounting bolt.
- Tighten the stiffener mounting bolts to the specified torque.
- Tighten the front and rear subframe mounting bolts to the specified torque.
- Check that the positioning slots on the right/left rear stiffener, the positioning holes on the subframe, and the positioning holes on the body are aligned using the subframe alignment pin.
- Tighten the bolts securing the subframe middle mount on both sides.
- Connect the ground cable connector at the front of the front subframe.
- Tighten the nuts securing the lower transmission mount.
- Lower the vehicle on the lift.
- Remove the engine support hanger and the engine hanger adapter.
- Tighten the new front engine mount mounting bolt (A), then install the front engine mount stop (B) using new nuts (C), and connect the vacuum hose (D).
- M/T model: Lift and support the engine/transmission with a jack and a wood block under the engine/transmission, then install the rear engine mount.
- M/T model: Remove the jack, then tighten the new rear engine mount mounting bolts in the numbered sequence shown.
- A/T model: Install the rear engine mount upper bracket (A). Lift and support the engine/transmission with a jack and a wood block under the engine/transmission, then install the rear engine mount (B).
- A/T model: Remove the jack, then tighten the new rear engine mount mounting bolts in the numbered sequence shown.
- Loosen the side engine mount bracket mounting bolts, then retighten the bolts in the numbered sequence shown.
- Loosen the upper transmission mount bracket mounting bolts, then retighten them to the specified torque. M/T model A/T model
- Make sure the steering gearbox washers are set securely. Tighten the new steering gearbox mounting bolts.
- Raise the vehicle on the lift.
- Install a new set ring on the end of each driveshaft, then install the driveshafts (see «DRIVESHAFT INSTALLATION»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/axle-shafts/#drivelineaxle-4-cyl__driveshaft-installation) ). Make sure each ring "clicks" into place in the differential and the intermediate shaft.
- Connect the lower arms to the knuckles (see «COMPLIANCE BUSHING REPLACEMENT»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/suspension-front/#front-suspension-4-cyl) ).
- Install the damper fork (see «LOWER ARM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/suspension-front/#front-suspension-4-cyl__lower-arm-removalinstallation) ).
- A/T model: Install the shift cable (see «SHIFT CABLE REPLACEMENT»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/automatic-trans/#automatic-transmission-4-cyl) ).
- Install exhaust pipe A using new gaskets (B) and new self-locking nuts (C).
- Install the A/C compressor (A), then connect the A/C compressor clutch connector (B).
- Install the front splash shield.
- Install the front wheels.
- Lower the vehicle on the lift.
- Install the drive belt (see «DRIVE BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/charging-system/#charging-system-4-cyl__drive-belt-removalinstallation) ).
- Connect the upper radiator hose (A) and the heater hoses (B).
- Check the quick connector (A) and set ring (B) for cracks or damage. If the connector and/or set ring are cracked or damaged, replace the connector.
- Make sure the set ring is in place inside the quick connector. If the set ring is off the connector, replace the quick connector.
- Install a new O-ring (C) in the quick connector.
- Check the lock (D). If the lock is damaged or deformed, replace it. When installing the new lock on the connector, push it straight down along the groove.
- Clean the connecting surface of the thermostat cover (E), then apply clean engine coolant around the connecting surface.
- Push the lock (A) down, then push the quick connector (B) onto the thermostat cover until you hear it click.
- M/T model: Install the clutch slave cylinder, and the clutch line bracket mounting bolt (see «TRANSMISSION DISASSEMBLY»(ref-475400-S15588044162012052300000) ).
- M/T model: Install the shift cable (see «TRANSMISSION DISASSEMBLY»(ref-475400-S15588044162012052300000) ).
- Install the ignition coil cover (A) and the brake booster vacuum line mounting bolts (B).
- Connect the fuel feed hose (A), then install the quick-connect fitting cover (B) (see «FUEL LINE/QUICK-CONNECT FITTING INSTALLATION»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/fuel-system/#fuel-supply-system-4-cyl__fuel-linequick-connect-fitting-installation) ).
- Install the EVAP canister hose (A) and the brake booster vacuum hose (B).
- Connect the engine wire harness connector (A).
- Install the starter subharness connector (B) to the bracket, then connect the connector.
- Install the harness clamps (C).
- Install the battery cables (D) to the under-hood fuse/relay box.
- Install the ECM/PCM assembly (A) with the bracket.
- Connect the ECM/PCM connectors (B)
- Install the harness clamps (C).
- Install the strut brace (see «STRUT BRACE REPLACEMENT»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/exterior-body-panels/#frame-4-cyl) ).
- Install the air cleaner (see «AIR CLEANER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/mechanical/#intake-air-system-4-cyl) ).
- Install the front grille cover (see «FRONT GRILLE COVER REPLACEMENT»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#exterior-trim-4-cyl__front-grille-cover-replacement) ).
- Do the battery installation procedure (see «BATTERY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/body-electrical/#battery-4-cyl__battery-removal-and-installation) ).
- Inspect for fuel leaks. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II) (do not operate the starter) so the fuel pump runs for about 2 seconds and pressurizes the fuel line. Repeat this operation three times, then check for fuel leakage at any point in the fuel line.
- Refill the engine with engine oil (see «ENGINE OIL REPLACEMENT»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/lubrication-system/#engine-lubrication-4-cyl) ).
- Refill the transmission with fluid: Manual transmission (see «TRANSMISSION FLUID INSPECTION AND REPLACEMENT»(ref-475400-S22335189602012052300000) ) Automatic transmission (see «ATF REPLACEMENT»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/automatic-trans/#automatic-transmission-4-cyl) )
- A/T model: Move the shift lever to each gear, and verify that the A/T gear position indicator follows the transmission range switch.
- M/T model: Check that the transmission shifts into all gear smoothly.
- Refill the radiator with engine coolant, and bleed the air from the cooling system (see «COOLANT CHECK»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/cooling-fan/#engine-cooling-system-4-cyl) ).
- Check for fluid leaks.
- Do the ECM/PCM reset procedure (see «ECM/PCM RESET»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/testing-diagnostics/#fuel-and-emissions-systems-4-cyl__ecmpcm-reset) ).
- Do the CKP pattern clear/CKP pattern learn procedure (see «CKP PATTERN CLEAR/CKP PATTERN LEARN»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/testing-diagnostics/#fuel-and-emissions-systems-4-cyl) ).
- Inspect the idle speed (see «IDLE SPEED INSPECTION»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/testing-diagnostics/#idle-control-system-4-cyl__idle-speed-inspection) ).
- Inspect the ignition timing (see «IGNITION TIMING INSPECTION»(/acura/tsx/ii-2008-2014/remont/ignition-system/#ignition-system-4-cyl) ).
