- Open the front door, pry out the rear edge of the driver's dashboard side panel (A) with the appropriate trim tool to detach the clips and the hooks (B), and remove the panel
- Detach the clips Disconnect the dash lights brightness controller connector (A), then remove the driver's dashboard trim (B)
- Install the driver's dashboard trim in the reverse order of removal, and note these items If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones Make sure the connector is plugged in properly Push the clips and the hooks into place securely
Driver's Switch Panel Removal/Installation

- Remove the driver's switch panel (A) -1 Apply protective tape (B) to the dashboard under the edge of the driver's switch panel -2 Pry up on the edge of the panel with a flat-tipped screwdriver wrapped with protective tape to release the hooks (C) -3 Disconnect the VSA OFF switch connector (D) and the headlight washer connector (E) (for some models)
- Install the panel in the reverse order of removal, and note these items Make sure the each connector is plugged in properly Push the hooks into place securely

- Tilt the steering column fully down, and move the steering wheel all the way out
- Detach the clips and the hooks (A) fastening the instrument fascia (B) from the upper column cover (C)
- Gently pull out the bottom to release the clips, and remove the instrument fascia (A)
- Install the instrument fascia in the reverse order of removal, and note these items If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones Push the clips and the hooks into place securely

- Remove the driver's dashboard undercover (A) -1 Turn the lock knob (B) 90° -2 Gently pull down the rear edge to detach the clip -3 Disconnect the footwell light connector (C) and the harness clip (D) -4 Pull the undercover rearward to release the brackets (E) from the pins (F)
- Install the undercover in the reverse order of removal, and note these items If the clip is damaged or stress-whitened, replace it with a new one Push the clip into place securely Make sure the footwell light connector is plugged in properly Make sure the brackets are installed securely on the pins

- Remove the dashboard center vent (A) NOTE: Do not pull on the vent louvers or the edge of the vent, or you may damage them -1 Insert a hook-shaped tool into one side of the center vent until it hooks on to the back edge of the duct (B) -2 Carefully pull one side of the dashboard center vent partially out to release the clips (C, D) and the hooks (E), then do the same on the other side -3 Disconnect the hazard warning switch/passenger's airbag cutoff indicator connector (F) NOTE: Do not pull on the vent louvers or the edge of the vent, or you may damage them.
- Install the dashboard center vent in the reverse order of removal, and note these items If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones Push the clips and the hooks into place securely Make sure the connector is plugged in properly

- Remove the glove box lock cylinder (A)
- Reinstall the end of the retainer (A) in its slot, then install the lock cylinder (B) Push the cylinder into place securely until the retainer snaps into place
Glove Box Damper Replacement

Side Defogger Vent Trim Removal/Installation

- Turn the steering wheel to access the mounting screws, then remove the screws from front side of the column cover (A)
- Insert a small screwdriver or similar tool into the holes (A) in the lower column cover (B) Gently push to release the hooks (C), and pull up the upper column cover (D) to remove it
- Remove the three screws (A, B), then remove the lower column cover (C)
- Install the upper and lower column cover in the reverse order of removal Make sure the wire harnesses are not pinched before tightening the screws. Push the hooks into place securely.

- Remove the bolts securing the dashboard (A) Bolt specification: 5 x 0.8 mm, 5 N.m (0.5 kgf.m, 4 lbf.ft)
- Lift up on the dashboard (A) to release it from the guide pins (B), then carefully remove the dashboard through the front door opening NOTE: Lay the dashboard on its front or back Do not rest it on the lower console opening or you may damage it
- Install the dashboard in the reverse order of removal, and note these items Make sure the dashboard fits onto the guide pins correctly Make sure the wire harnesses are not pinched before tightening the bolts Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure (see «BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION»(/acura/tl/iv-2008-2011/remont/body-electrical/#battery) ) Check for any DTCs that may have been set during repairs, and clear them

- Disconnect the left side wire harness connectors (A), the left engine compartment wire harness connectors (B), and the driver's door wire harness connector (C) from the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box (D)
- Detach the harness clip (A) fastening the relay (B) from the brake pedal support member (C) Remove the bolts (D, E), then remove the member, and disconnect the TPMS control unit connector (F) Center dashboard/console
- Remove the clip, then remove the center joint duct (A)
- Detach the clip securing the center side duct (B). Disconnect SRS unit connector A, the A/C wire harness connector (C), and the yaw rate-lateral/(longitudinal) acceleration sensor connector (D), the A/T shift solenoid /park-pin switch connector (E), the center console subharness connector (F), then detach the wire harness clips (G). Remove the TORX ground bolt (H) with a TORX T30 bit. Center dashboard (passenger's side)
- Disconnect the A/C wire harness connector (A), and detach the clip securing the center side duct (B) Passenger's side
- Disconnect the antenna sublead connectors (A)
- Disconnect the passenger's door wire harness connector (A), the right side wire harness connectors (B), and the right engine compartment wire harness connectors (C) Disconnect the dashboard wire harness connector (D) and the audio wire harness connectors (E) from the passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box (F) Detach the harness clip (G)
- Remove bolts (A, B), then remove the center joint bracket (C)
- Remove the cowl cover (see «COWL COVER REPLACEMENT»(/acura/tl/iv-2008-2011/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#exterior-trim__cowl-cover-replacement) )
- Remove the bolts securing the steering hanger beam
- Remove the special bolts (A) from outside the passenger's door -1 Remove the caps (B) -2 Loosen the special bolts until they disengage from the threads on the hanger beam side bracket (C), and engage the inside threads of the collar bolts (D) The thread lock on the special bolts makes the special bolts and collar bolts turn together -3 Continue loosening the special bolts to turn the collar bolts into the fixed space adjusters (E) until the collar bolts engage the stops (F) This creates a gap (G) between the collar bolts and the body -4 Loosen the special bolts to disengage them from the collar bolts, then remove them
- Check that the collar bolts (A) are seated in the space adjusters (B) -1 Insert an 8 mm hex wrench in the collar bolt -2 Gently turn the wrench counterclockwise -3 If the wrench turns easily, continue turning until the collar bolt seats and engages the stop (C) -4 If the wrench does not turn easily, the collar bolt is seated NOTE: If either collar bolt was not seated, replace the special bolts
- From outside the driver's door, remove the caps (A), then remove the bolts from outside the driver's door
- Lift up on the dashboard (A) to release it from the guide pins (B) on the body Carefully remove the dashboard through the front door opening Take care not to scratch the body with the collar nuts on the passenger's side NOTE: Do not rest the dashboard on its lower center cover opening, or it may be damaged Lay it on its front or back
- Install the dashboard in the reverse order of removal, and note these items If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones Make sure the dashboard fits onto the guide pins correctly Before tightening the bolts, make sure the wire harnesses are not pinched Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly Push the clips and hooks into place securely Make sure the collar bolts (A) turn easily by hand in the fixed space adjusters (B) Tighten the collar bolts by hand until they engage the stops (C) before reinstalling the dashboard Before reinstalling the dashboard, screw the special bolts (D) into the collar bolts, and check that they turn together If they do not turn together, replace the special bolts After setting the dashboard in the body, reinstall all of the mounting bolts but do not tighten them First tighten the driver's side bracket bolts to the specified torque Next, tighten the special bolts As you tighten the bolts, the collar bolts screw out of the sleeve until they contact the body Continue tightening the special bolts to the specified torque Apply medium strength liquid thread lock to the bolts securing the center joint bracket and the dashboard before reinstallation After tightening the dashboard mounting bolts, tighten the center joint bracket mounting bolts, and then tighten the center frame mounting bolts Tighten all remaining mounting bolts to the specified torque Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure (see «BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION»(/acura/tl/iv-2008-2011/remont/body-electrical/#battery) ) Check for any DTCs that may have been set during repairs, and clear them Special bolt tightening on passenger's side
