Scheme 6

Scheme 6
  1. Pull down the roof console (A) holding the center part of the roof console.
  2. Disconnect the 20P connector (B) from the roof console.
  3. Check for continuity between the terminals in each interior light switch position according to the table. NOTE: Make sure the correct test lead (+ or -) is placed on the terminal. When checking for continuity across the diode, use the diode setting on the digital volt/ohm meter to check the diode bias. Note this important operating characteristic; a diode is one that conducts fully in one direction (forward) and not at all in the opposite direction (reverse).
  4. If the continuity and the diode bias is not as specified, replace the roof console as an assembly.

Scheme 7

Scheme 7: Front Individual Map Light Replacement
  1. Carefully pry the lens (A) off with a small screwdriver. Front Map Light: 5 W (4CP)x2
  2. Check the bulb(s) (B). If the bulb is OK, but there is a malfunction, check the interior light switch (see «INTERIOR LIGHT SWITCH TEST/REPLACEMENT»(/acura/rdx/i-2009-2012/remont/interiorillumination-lights/#interior-lights) ).

Scheme 8: Ceiling Light Test/Replacement

Scheme 9

Scheme 9
  1. Turn the ceiling light switch OFF.
  2. Carefully pry the lens (A) off with a small screwdriver. Ceiling Light: 8 W
  3. Remove the screws, then remove the ceiling light (B).
  4. Disconnect the 3P connector (C) from the ceiling light.
  5. Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to the table.
  6. If the continuity is not as specified, check the bulb. If the bulb is OK, replace the light.
  7. Install the ceiling light in the reverse order of removal.

Scheme 10

Scheme 10: Cargo Area Light Test/Replacement

Scheme 11

Scheme 11
  1. Open the tailgate.
  2. Carefully pry out the cargo area light (A). Cargo Area Light: 5 W
  3. Disconnect the 2P connector (B) from the light.
  4. Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to the table.
  5. If the continuity is not as specified, check the bulb. If the bulb is OK, replace the cargo area light.
  6. Install the cargo area light in the reverse order of removal.

Scheme 12

Scheme 12: Glove Box Light Test/Replacement
  1. Remove the glove box stops and damper (see «PASSENGER'S DASHBOARD UNDERCOVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/rdx/i-2009-2012/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#dashboard) ).
  2. Twist the bulb socket (A) 45 ° counterclockwise to remove it. Glove Box Light: 1.4 W
  3. Remove the bulb (B) from the socket.
  4. Install the glove box light in the reverse order of removal.

Scheme 15

Scheme 15
  1. Remove the sunvisor (see «SUNVISOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/rdx/i-2009-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior-trim__sunvisor-removalinstallation) ).
  2. Disconnect the 2P connector (A) from the sunvisor (B).
  3. Check for continuity between terminals No. 1 and No. 2 with the vanity mirror cover (C) in each position according to the table.
  4. If the continuity is not as specified, go to step 5.
  5. Carefully pry off the lens (A) with a small screwdriver. Vanity Mirror Light: 2 W
  6. Remove the two screws, then remove the vanity mirror light (B).
  7. Disconnect the two terminals (C) from the vanity mirror light.
  8. Check for continuity between the terminals (D). There should continuity between the terminals with the vanity mirror cover opened. There should be no continuity between the terminals with the vanity mirror cover closed.
  9. If the continuity is not as specified, check the bulb (E). If the bulb is OK, replace the vanity mirror light. If the vanity mirror light is OK, replace the sunvisor (see «SUNVISOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(/acura/rdx/i-2009-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior-trim__sunvisor-removalinstallation) ).
  10. Install the vanity mirror light in the reverse order of removal.
