DTC B1955: Rear MICU Lost Communication with MICU (MICU Message)

Note. If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A (see TROUBLESHOOTING - B-CAN SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS TEST MODE A ).

  1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back ON (II).
  3. Wait for 6 seconds or more.
  4. Check for DTCs with the HDS. Is DTC B1955 indicated? YES - Go to step 5. NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections between the rear fuse/relay box and the MICU.
  5. Check for DTCs with the HDS. Are DTCs B1055, B1056, B1057, B1157, B1159, B1180, B1255, B1955, B2155, B2156, and/or B 2161 indicated? YES - Do the MICU input test (see «MICU INPUT TEST»(/acura/mdx/ii-2006-2010/remont/communication-devices/#multiplex-integrated-control-system__micu-input-test) ). NO - Do the rear MICU input test (see «REAR MICU INPUT TEST»(/acura/mdx/ii-2006-2010/remont/communication-devices/#multiplex-integrated-control-system__rear-micu-input-test) ).

DTC B1956: Rear MICU Lost Communication with Gauge Control Module (A/T Message)

Note. If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A (see TROUBLESHOOTING - B-CAN SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS TEST MODE A ).

  1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back ON (II).
  3. Wait for 6 seconds or more.
  4. Check for DTCs with the HDS. Is DTC B1956 indicated? YES - Go to step 5. NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections between the rear MICU and the gauge control module.
  5. Check for DTCs with the HDS. Are DTCs B1011, B1061, and B1906 also indicated? YES - Do the gauge control module input test (see «GAUGE CONTROL MODULE INPUT TEST»(/acura/mdx/ii-2006-2010/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#gauges__gauge-control-module-input-test) ). NO - Do the rear MICU input test (see «REAR MICU INPUT TEST»(/acura/mdx/ii-2006-2010/remont/communication-devices/#multiplex-integrated-control-system__rear-micu-input-test) ).

DTC B1957: Rear MICU Lost Communication with Combination Switch Control Unit (HLSW Message); DTC B1958: Rear MICU Lost Communication with Combination Switch Control Unit (WIPSW Message)

Note. If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A (see TROUBLESHOOTING - B-CAN SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS TEST MODE A ).

  1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back ON (II).
  3. Wait for 6 seconds or more.
  4. Check for DTCs with the HDS. Is DTC B1957 and/or B1958 indicated? YES - Go to step 5. NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections between the rear MICU and the combination switch control unit.
  5. Check for DTCs with the HDS. Are DTCs B1007, B1062, B1063, B1155, B1156, B1957, B1958, and/or B2969 all indicated? YES - Do the combination switch control unit input test (see «WIPER/WASHER SWITCH (COMBINATION SWITCH CONTROL UNIT) INPUT TEST»(/acura/mdx/ii-2006-2010/remont/wiperwasher-systems/#wiper-system-washer-system__wiperwasher-switch-combination-switch-control-unit) ). NO - Do the rear MICU input test (see «REAR MICU INPUT TEST»(/acura/mdx/ii-2006-2010/remont/communication-devices/#multiplex-integrated-control-system__rear-micu-input-test) ).

DTC B1959: Rear MICU Lost Communication with Relay Control Module (RM Message)

Note. If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A (see TROUBLESHOOTING - B-CAN SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS TEST MODE A ).

  1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back ON (II).
  3. Wait for 6 seconds or more.
  4. Check for DTCs with the HDS. Is DTC B1959 indicated? YES - Go to step 5. NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections between the rear MICU and the relay control module.
  5. Check for DTCs with the HDS. Are DTCs B1005, B1058, B1959, B2162, and/or B2970 all indicated? YES - Do the relay control module input test (see «RELAY CONTROL MODULE INPUT TEST»(/acura/mdx/ii-2006-2010/remont/communication-devices/#multiplex-integrated-control-system__relay-control-module-input-test) ). NO - Do the rear MICU input test (see «REAR MICU INPUT TEST»(/acura/mdx/ii-2006-2010/remont/communication-devices/#multiplex-integrated-control-system__rear-micu-input-test) ).

Removal and Installation

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ). and precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) before performing repairs or servicing.

Scheme 62: Removal
  1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure(see «BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION»(/acura/mdx/ii-2006-2010/remont/body-electrical/#battery) ), and wait at least 3 minutes.
  2. Remove the left rear side trim panel. «TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - REAR SIDE AREA»(/acura/mdx/ii-2006-2010/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior-trim__trim-removalinstallation-rear-side-area) .
  3. Disconnect the connectors from the rear fuse/relay box (A).
  4. Remove the mounting nuts and the rear fuse/relay box. ).
  5. Disconnect the connectors from the rear fuse/relay box (A).

Installation

  1. Install the relays and connect the connectors to the rear fuse/relay box, then install the rear fuse/relay box in the reverse order of removal.
  2. Install the removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
  3. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure. (see «BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION»(/acura/mdx/ii-2006-2010/remont/body-electrical/#battery)
  4. Confirm that all systems work properly. ).
