Remove the cap from the expansion tank.
Raise the vehicle.
Remove the lower engine guard.
Scheme 238
Fit a hose onto the drain cock. Open the cock and drain the coolant into a clean receptacle.
Install the lower engine cover.
Lower the vehicle.

Pull the front edge straight up and then pull forward.

Remove the intake hose between the front plate and the air cleaner.

Remove the cover from over the control module and pull straight up.

Note. Do not touch the control module terminal pins with your fingers. Static electricity may damage components in the control module.
Unplug the connector from the Engine Control Module (ECM).
Press in the catch and move the lock brace up.

Unplug the connector from the mass air flow sensor.
Detach the hose clip from the mass air flow sensor.

Lift up the air cleaner and move aside the fresh air hose.

Detach the hose from the throttle body.
Undo the hose clip and move the hose aside.

Unplug the connector of the throttle body and EGR mixer.
Note. For vehicles with manual transmission: also unplug the connector of the EGR cooler's bypass valve.

Remove the 4 M6 screws of the throttle body.
Scrap the gasket.
Scheme 248
Undo both hose clips on the intake hose at the EGR mixer. Pull off the hose from the EGR mixer.
Undo the upper hose clip on the intake hose to the intake manifold.
Remove the intake hose.

Remove the 1 M6 screw to the brace of the fuel rail.

Remove the clamp between the EGR cooler and the connection pipe to the exhaust manifold.
Scrap the gasket.

Remove
- the coolant hoses from the EGR cooler
- the 1 screw clamp
- the 1 disposable clamp

Remove the 1 M8 screw on the rear edge of the cylinder head.

Remove the 1 M10 screw in the EGR mixer in the front edge of the cylinder head.
Lift out the EGR module assembly.
Install The Air Cleaner (ACL)
Install
- the air cleaner and press it into the snap mountings
- the fresh air hose on the mass air flow sensor and tighten the hose clip.
Plug in the connector of the mass air flow sensor.

Hook the solenoid valve onto the air cleaner housing.
Scheme 255
Plug in the connector of the Engine Control Module (ECM).
Install
- the cover over the control module
- the intake hose between the front plate and the air cleaner
- the upper engine cover. First secure the rear edge and then press down the front edge.
