DESCRIPTION

The portion of the power window control system that is located in the driver door consists of a power window master switch, regulator, and a motor with an integrated ECU. The driver door power window regulator motor is controlled by the ECU when the power window master switch is operated (models with jam protection).

DTC B2311 is set when the ECU for the driver door power window regulator motor assembly malfunctions.

Note. The power window control system uses a serial communication protocol (LIN) to communicate with the main body ECU. Inspect the communication function by following HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING. Troubleshoot the power window control system after confirming that the communication system is functioning properly.

HINT

  1. Initialization is required only when the power window regulator motor is replaced. However, replacing the motor may cause the motor gear to be engaged in a different position. This can cause a difference to exist between the current door glass position and the position memorized in the ECU. In this case, the jam protection function may work improperly. Return the system to the pre-initialized condition and reinitialize the system.
  2. To return the system to the pre-initialized condition: Disconnect the power window regulator motor connector during power window operation. This will return the motor to the pre-initialized condition.

When the ECU determines that the power window master switch is stuck, DTC B2312 is set.

Note. The power window control system uses a serial communication protocol (LIN) to communicate with the main body ECU. Inspect the communication function by following HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING. Troubleshoot the power window control system after confirming that the communication system is functioning properly.

The driver door power window regulator motor is controlled by the ECU when the power window master switch is operated (models with jam protection).

When the ECU determines that the driver's door power window regulator motor assembly has not been initialized, DTC B2313 is set.

Note. The power window control system uses a serial communication protocol (LIN) to communicate with the main body ECU. Inspect the communication function by following HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING. Troubleshoot the power window control system after confirming that the communication system is functioning properly.

HINT

  1. Replacing the door glass or door glass run may cause a difference to exist between the current door glass position and the position memorized in the ECU. In this case, the jam protection function may work improperly. Return the system to the pre-initialized condition and reinitialize the system.
  2. To return the system to the pre-initialized condition, refer to «INITIALIZATION»(ref-422307-S33663556452011092600000)

With the ignition switch on (IG) , the power window regulator master switch transmits remote switch signals to the regulator switch of the passenger door power window. Then, the regulator switch drives the passenger power window regulator motor.

If the manual UP / DOWN and AUTO DOWN functions do not operate, a malfunction may exist in the power window master switch, power window regulator motor or wire harness.

NOTE: Match the arrow mark of the probe with the direction of the current flow. Fully close the door glass by pressing the power window UP switch. Wait for approximately 60 seconds. Continue to press the power window UP switch and measure how long it takes for the electrical current to change from a range of 16 to 28 A to approximately 1 A (Inspection of current shut-off). Standard 4 to 90 seconds 60 seconds after the previous step, press the power window DOWN switch (passenger side). OK The passenger side window goes down. NG --> See step 8 OK: Go to next step

  1. When the AUTO UP/DOWN does not function, the power window control system may be in fail-safe mode. If the system has not been initialized after replacement of the driver door power window regulator motor, it also results in the same problem. NOTE: The power window control system uses a multiplex communication system (LIN). Inspect the communication function by following HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING. Troubleshoot the power window control system after confirming that the communication system is functioning properly. When the power window regulator motor assembly (on the driver side) is reinstalled or replaced, the power window control system must be initialized. After a door glass or a door glass run has been replaced, the jam protection function may operate unexpectedly when the AUTO UP function is used. In such cases, the AUTO UP function can be resumed by repeating the following operation at least 5 times: Close the power window by fully pulling up the power window switch and holding it in the AUTO UP position. Open the power window by fully pushing down the switch. HINT: If the pulse sensor built into the power window regulator motor assembly (on the driver side) malfunctions, the power window control system enters fail-safe mode. The remote UP/DOWN and AUTO UP/DOWN functions cannot be operated during fail-safe mode. When the driver door has not been opened and fully closed, each door power window regulator motor can control its power window operation for approximately 45 seconds after the ignition switch is turned from on (IG) to off (the key is removed) by receiving operation permission signals from the main body ECU. However, when approximately 45 seconds have elapsed, or the driver door or front passenger side door is opened within approximately 45 seconds of the ignition switch being turned off (the key is removed), the power window regulator motor stops operating. During AUTO function operation, the window operation will continue until complete even if 45 seconds have passed or a door is opened. NOTE: The power window control system uses a multiplex communication system (LIN). Inspect the communication function by following HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING. Troubleshoot the power window control system after confirming that the communication system is functioning properly. The power window control system prohibits the AUTO UP / DOWN function when the jam protection function malfunctions. Therefore, troubleshoot the power window control system after confirming that no diagnostic codes are displayed.

The driver door power window regulator motor is activated by operating the power window regulator master switch. The driver door power window regulator motor has motor, regulator and ECU functions. DTC B2311 is set when the main body ECU determines that the driver door power window regulator motor malfunctions.
