PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2013 - ]

HINT

  1. If a problem occurs in certain locations or at certain times of day, check for the possibility of wave interference.
  2. When the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is brought near the door control receiver (RF band), door outside handle (LF band), indoor electrical key antenna (LF band) or any of the electrical key antennas (LF band), the possibility of wave interference decreases. By doing this, whether wave interference is causing the problem can be checked.
  3. Use the table below to help determine the cause of problem symptoms. If multiple suspected areas are listed, the potential causes of the symptoms are listed in order of probability in the "Suspected Area" column of the table. Check each symptom by checking the suspected areas in the order they are listed. Replace parts as necessary.
  4. Inspect the fuses and relays related to this system before inspecting the suspected areas below.

  1. CHECK CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) Disconnect the E57 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. HINT: Measure the values on the wire harness side with the connector disconnected. Tester Connection Input/Output Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition Related Data List Item E57-11 (E) - Body ground - W-B - Body ground Ground Always Below 1 ohms - E57-2 (+B) - E57-11 (E) Input L - W-B +B power supply Always 11 to 14 V - E57-10 (CUTB) - E57-11 (E) Input LG - W-B Dark current cut pin* Always 11 to 14 V - *: In order to prevent the vehicle battery from being depleted when the vehicle is shipped long distances, a fuse that cuts unnecessary electrical load while the vehicle is being shipped is set in the circuit. If the fuse is removed, the circuit becomes open. If the fuse that is between the vehicle battery and terminal CUTB is removed and the circuit is open, the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) changes to a certain control mode (example: the transmission of radio waves every 0.25 seconds, which form the detection area, stops). If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction on the wire harness side or the fuse is removed. Reconnect the E57 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector. Scheme 52: DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2013 - ]
  1. DATA LIST NOTE: In the table below, the values listed under "Normal Condition" are reference values. Do not depend solely on these reference values when deciding whether a part is faulty or not. HINT: Using the Techstream to read the Data List allows the values or states of switches, sensors, actuators and other items to be read without removing any parts. This non-intrusive inspection can be very useful because intermittent conditions or signals may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Reading the Data List information early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. When using the Techstream with the engine switch off, connect the Techstream to the DLC3 and turn a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less until communication between the Techstream and the vehicle begins. Then select the vehicle type under manual mode and enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Key.
