PROCEDURE

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR MIX DAMPER SERVO) Use the Data List to check if the damper servo sub-assembly (front passenger side air mix damper servo) is functioning properly. Refer to «DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST»(ref-422144-S07427586662011092600000) . AIR CONDITIONER Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note Air Mix Servo Targ Pulse (P) Damper servo sub-assembly (front passenger side air mix damper servo) target pulse / Min.: 0, Max.: 255 112 or 127 (pulse): MAX COOL 21 or 31 (pulse): MAX HOT - Air Mix Servo Actual Pulse (P) Damper servo sub-assembly (front passenger side air mix damper servo) actual pulse / Min.: 0, Max.: 255 112 or 127 (pulse): MAX COOL 21 or 31 (pulse): MAX HOT - OK The display is as specified in the normal condition column.   2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR MIX DAMPER SERVO) Select the Active Test, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the damper servo sub-assembly (front passenger side air mix damper servo) operates. Refer to «DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST»(ref-422144-S07427586662011092600000) .   3. REPLACE DAMPER SERVO SUB-ASSEMBLY (FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR MIX DAMPER SERVO) Replace the damper servo sub-assembly (front passenger side air mix damper servo). Refer to «DISASSEMBLY»(ref-422116-S38662320362011092600000) . HINT: Since the damper servo sub-assembly (front passenger side air mix damper servo) cannot be inspected while it is removed from the vehicle, replace the damper servo sub-assembly (front passenger side air mix damper servo) with a new or normally functioning one. NEXT: Go to next step
  4. CHECK FOR DTC Clear the DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-422144-S22143148882011092600000) . Check for DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-422144-S22143148882011092600000) .   5. REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY Temporarily replace the air conditioning amplifier assembly with a new or normally functioning one. Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-422116-S31564571222011092600000) . NEXT: Go to next step
  6. CHECK FOR DTC Clear the DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-422144-S22143148882011092600000) . Check for DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-422144-S22143148882011092600000) . OK DTC B1441 is not output. NG --> See step 9 OK --> END (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY IS FAULTY)

  3. REPLACE RECIRCULATION DAMPER SERVO SUB-ASSEMBLY Replace the recirculation damper servo sub-assembly. Refer to «DISASSEMBLY»(ref-422116-S00636306832011092600000) . HINT: Since the recirculation damper servo sub-assembly cannot be inspected while it is removed from the vehicle, replace the recirculation damper servo sub-assembly with a new or normally functioning one. NEXT: Go to next step

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER - GENERATOR) Disconnect the F42 amplifier connector. Disconnect the C5 generator connector. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Resistance Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition F42-25 (ALT) - C5-3 (M) Always Below 1 ohms F42-25 (ALT) - Body ground Always 10 kohms or higher NG --> REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR OK --> See step 2
