Radiator Cap Removal and Installation
| WARNING | If the radiator cap is removed when the engine and radiator are still hot, extremely hot fluid and steam may spew out under pressure. This can cause severe burns. Wait until the engine coolant temperature has lowered before removing the radiator cap. |
Scheme 8
- Turn radiator cap counterclockwise until it stops.
- Push arrow-position (1) of radiator cap and wait until pressure is relieved (hissing sound is gone).
- Push down radiator cap and continue to turn it counterclockwise.
- Remove radiator cap.
Installation
- Push down radiator cap and turn it clockwise until it fully stops.
- Check for coolant leaks, see «Engine Cooling System Inspection»(ref-514579-S25640199602012112100000) .
