Overhaul (All Models)
- Remove fuel injector from throttle body. See «INJECTOR (TBI)»(ref-25811-S39371202082001010500000) under FUEL SYSTEM.
- Remove throttle position sensor, Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor (Swift SOHC), fuel pressure regulator (Samurai and Sidekick TBI) and Idle Air Control (IAC) valve (Sidekick TBI) from throttle body. (Scheme 12)or (Scheme 13). Remove attaching screws and separate upper and lower bodies.
- DO NOT soak any electrical device or air valve in solvent or other cleaner. DO NOT put drills or wires into passages. Clean upper and lower passages with compressed air only. Reassemble components with NEW gaskets and "O" rings.
- Assemble upper and lower bodies with NEW gasket. Install and tighten upper-to-lower body attaching screws to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-25811-S26528750412001010500000) table.
- On Samurai and Sidekick TBI, install fuel pressure regulator with NEW "O" ring. Tighten fuel pressure regulator mounting screws to specification. On Sidekick TBI, install IAC valve with NEW gasket. Tighten IAC mounting screws to specification.
- On Swift SOHC, install ECT sensor. Tighten sensor to specification. On all models, install fuel injector. See «INJECTOR (TBI)»(ref-25811-S39371202082001010500000). Apply thread locking compound to injector cover mounting screws and install cover. Tighten injector cover screws to specification.
- Install TPS so adjusting holes slightly cover mounting bolt holes. (Scheme 14) Turn sensor so mounting holes align. Install sensor mounting bolts (finger tight). Clamp wiring harness securely to side of throttle body.
