Headlamp: Bulb Replacement

CAUTIONLeaving bulb removed from the headlamp housing for a long period of time can deteriorate the performance of the lens and reflector (dirt, clouding). Always prepare a new bulb and have it on hand when replacing a bulb.

Removal

  1. Turn front headlamp switch OFF.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  3. Rotate the headlamp bulb retaining ring counterclockwise and remove.
  4. Pull the headlamp bulb straight out from the headlamp assembly. CAUTION: Grasp only the plastic base when handling headlamp bulb. Never touch the glass envelope.

Installation

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTIONAfter installing bulb, be sure to install the bulb socket and plastic cap securely to ensure watertightness.
  1. Turn the bulb socket counterclockwise to unlock it.
  2. Pull the bulb to remove it from the socket.

  2. Remove the front bumper upper valance. Refer to [ «FRONT BUMPER: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-375736-S25592846052010102800000) ]
  3. Remove the front combination lamp bolts.
  4. Disconnect the front combination lamp connector and remove front combination lamp.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

6.0 N.m (0.61 kg-m, 53 in-lb)

Note. The fog lamp is a semi-sealed beam type which uses a replaceable halogen bulb.

Scheme 101: Removal
  1. Position front fender protector aside. Refer to [ «FRONT FENDER PROTECTOR: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-375735-S35289178892010102800000) ]
  2. Disconnect fog lamp connector.
  3. Remove fog lamp screws and pull fog lamp rearward out of front bumper. CAUTION: Do not leave fog lamp assembly without bulb for a long period of time. Dust, moisture, smoke, etc. entering the fog lamp body may affect the performance. Remove the bulb from the headlamp assembly just before replacement bulb is installed. Grasp only the plastic base when handling the bulb. Never touch the glass envelope. Touching the glass could significantly affect the bulb life and/or fog lamp performance.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

Scheme 102

Scheme 102: Removal
  1. Remove high-mounted stop lamp. Refer to [ «STOP LAMP: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-375715-S10590868702010102800000) ].
  2. Rotate the center bulb socket counterclockwise to release from high-mounted stop lamp assembly.
  3. Pull bulb straight out from bulb socket.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Remove plugs on headlining.
  2. Remove the nuts and remove high-mounted stop lamp from outside of roof outer panel.
  3. Rotate the bulb sockets counterclockwise and remove the high-mounted stop lamp assembly.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

High-mounted stop lamp nuts: 3.38 N.m (0.34 kg-m, 30 in-lb)

  1. Turn bulb socket counterclockwise to unlock bulb socket.
  2. Pull bulb to remove from bulb socket.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Disconnect license plate lamp harness.
  2. Depress tab to remove license plate lamp from rear bumper.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

Scheme 103

Scheme 103: REMOVAL
  1. Remove rear combination lamp. Refer to [ «REAR COMBINATION LAMP: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-375715-S08548983012010102800000) ].
  2. Turn bulb counterclockwise to remove bulb socket.
  3. Pull bulb straight out away from socket to release.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

Scheme 104

Scheme 104: REMOVAL
  1. Open tailgate and remove rear combination lamp bolts.
  2. Pull combination lamp housing rearward to release locating snap.
  3. Rotate each bulb socket counterclockwise to unlock it from lamp housing and remove from vehicle.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

Note. During installation, align locating snap on body prior to installing bolts.

Rear combination lamp bolts: 2.4 Nm (0.24 kg-m, 21 in-lb)

Scheme 105

Scheme 105: REMOVAL
  1. Remove lower instrument panel LH. Refer to [ «INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY: EXPLODED VIEW»(ref-375695-S16229198292010102800000) ]
  2. Remove knee protector brace.
  3. Remove steering column cover.
  4. Disconnect the lighting and turn signal switch connector.
  1. While pressing tabs, pull lighting and turn signal switch toward driver door and release from the steering column.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

Scheme 106

  1. Remove cluster lid C. Refer to [ «INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY: EXPLODED VIEW»(ref-375695-S16229198292010102800000) ]
  2. Disconnect the hazard switch connector.
  3. Remove the screws and remove the hazard switch.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

The map lamp is replaced as part of the overhead console assembly. Refer to [ HEADLINING: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ]

Scheme 108: Bulb Replacement
  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  2. Using a suitable tool (A), remove map lamp lens (1). CAUTION: Wrap a cloth around tool to protect the housing and lens.
  3. Release one side of the bulb (2) from the tab, then pull straight downward to remove. Map lamp bulb: 12V - 8W

The vanity mirror lamp is replaced as part of the sunvisor assembly. Refer to [ HEADLINING: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ]

  1. Remove lower instrument panel RH and glove box. Refer to [ «INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-375695-S37538787532010102800000) ]
  2. Rotate glove box lamp socket (3) with bulb (1) counterclockwise, then pull away from lamp shield (2) on steering member to remove.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  2. Remove glove box lamp.
  3. Pull bulb (2) straight out from glove box lamp socket (1) to remove. Glove box lamp bulb: 12V - 3.4W

  2. Using a suitable tool (A), release the pawls and remove the room lamp lens (1). CAUTION: Wrap a cloth around tool to protect the housing and lens.
  3. Remove room lamp screws (2).
  4. Disconnect the connector, then remove room lamp.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

Scheme 113: Bulb Replacement
  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  2. Using a suitable tool, release the pawls and remove the room lamp lens.
  3. Release the room lamp bulb retainers (1), then pull bulb (2) straight out to remove. Room lamp bulb: 12V - 8W

The illumination control switch is replaced as a part of the combination meter assembly. Refer to [ COMBINATION METER: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ]

  1. Remove A/T finisher from center console. Refer to [ «INSTRUMENT LOWER PANEL RH AND GLOVE BOX: EXPLODED VIEW»(ref-375695-S42014141642010102800000) ]
  2. Rotate A/T finisher lamp socket (2) with bulb (3) counterclockwise, then pull away from finisher (1).

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

  2. Remove A/T finisher lamp socket (1), then pull bulb (2) straight out away from socket. AT finisher lamp bulb: 12V - 3W

The map lamp is replaced as part of the overhead console assembly. Refer to [ HEADLINING: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ]

  2. Using a suitable tool (A), remove map lamp lens (1). CAUTION: Wrap a cloth around tool to protect the housing and lens.
  3. Release one side of the bulb (2) from the tab, then pull straight downward to remove. Map lamp bulb: 12V - 8W
