CAUTION

  1. Before disassembling or reassembling parts, always disconnect the battery ground cable from battery. When replacing the audio, control module and other parts provided with memory functions, record the memory contents before disconnecting the battery ground cable. Otherwise, the memory is cleared.
  2. Reassemble the parts in the reverse order of disassembly procedure unless otherwise indicated.
  3. Adjust parts to the given specifications.
  4. Connect the connectors securely during reassembly.
  5. After reassembly, make sure that the functional parts operate normally.

CHECK EACH VEHICLE SIGNAL (DISPLAY AUDIO)

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and then while pressing the buttons (a) and (b), press and hold the button (c) for 3 seconds or more.
  2. The display will switch to the Line Diag screen.
  1. CHECK ILLUMINATION NOTE: Before starting inspections, turn the ignition switch to ON. Turn the lighting switch to level 1. Make sure that the bright switch is not turned ON at this time. Make sure that "ON" lights in ILL+ and then the screen becomes dim. ON: Normal. OFF: Abnormal. Check the signal line connector. If there are no problems, the unit could be faulty.
  2. CHECK SPEED SENSOR NOTE: Before starting inspections, check the safety around the vehicle. Lift up the vehicle as necessary. When the diagnostic trouble code is input in the VDCCM, perform the Clear Memory operation. Move the vehicle 2 to 3 meters (6.6 to 9.8 ft). Check that "ON" is displayed in SPD. ON: Normal. OFF: Abnormal. Check the signal line connection. If there are no problems, the unit could be faulty.
  3. CHECK PARKING BRAKE SIGNAL Pull parking brake lever. Check that "ON" is displayed in PKB. ON: Normal. OFF: Abnormal. Check the signal line connector. If there are no problems, the unit could be faulty.
  4. CHECK BACK SENSOR NOTE: Before starting inspections, check the safety around the rear end of the vehicle and then turn the ignition switch to ON. Pull the parking brake and depress the brake, then put the gear in reverse. Make sure that "ON" is displayed in REV. ON: Normal. OFF: Abnormal. Check the signal line connection. If there are no problems, the unit could be faulty.

CHECK THE DVD-ROM

After the opening screen is displayed, press the << Agree >> key to switch to the map screen.

When a screen other than the opening screen is displayed, press the << MAP >> key.

Standard: The map screen should be displayed.

OK: Normal.

NG: If map screen is not displayed, any of the followings may be the cause.

  1. DVD-ROM is not set in the navigation system unit.
  2. DVD-ROM is inserted upside down.
  3. Wrong DVD-ROM is in.
  4. DVD-ROM has scratches or something. If there are no problems on the DVD-ROM, the unit is faulty.

  1. Press << Audio >> key to display the Audio OFF screen.
  2. Touch the screen in the order of (1) to (6) shown in the figure.
  3. The display will switch to the Dealer Diag Menu screen.
  1. CHECK AUX Touch {Connection Info.} on the << Dealer Diag Menu >> screen. Check that "Connect" is displayed in AUX. Connect: Normal. NC: Abnormal. Check the signal line connection. If there are no problems, the unit could be faulty.
  2. CHECK MICROPHONE Touch {Connection Info.} on the << Dealer Diag Menu >> screen. Check that "Connect" is displayed in MIC. Connect: Normal. NC: Abnormal. Check the signal line connection. If there are no problems, the unit could be faulty.

CHECK EACH VEHICLE SIGNAL

  1. Press << Audio >> key to display the Audio OFF screen.
  2. Touch the screen in the order of (1) to (6) shown in the figure.
  3. The display will switch to the Dealer Diag Menu screen.
  1. CHECK GPS ANTENNA NOTE: When checking the GPS antenna, perform the check operation outdoors to improve the receiver sensitivity. Touch {Vehicle Signal Info.} on the << Dealer Diag Menu >> screen. Check that "Connect" is displayed in the GPS Antenna item. Connect: Normal. NC: Abnormal. Check the GPS antenna connection.
  2. CHECK BACK SENSOR NOTE: Before starting inspections, check the safety around the rear end of the vehicle and then turn the ignition switch to ON. Touch {Vehicle Signal Info.} on the << Dealer Diag Menu >> screen. Pull the parking brake and depress the brake, then put the gear in reverse. Make sure that "ON" is displayed in the Reverse item. ON: Normal. OFF: Abnormal. Check the signal line connection. If there are no problems, the unit could be faulty.
  3. CHECK ILLUMINATION NOTE: Before starting inspections, turn the ignition switch to ON. Touch {Vehicle Signal Info.} on the << Dealer Diag Menu >> screen. Turn the lighting switch to level 1.   5. CHECK IGNITION SIGNAL Touch {Vehicle Signal Info.} on the << Dealer Diag Menu >> screen. Turn the ignition switch to ON. Check that "ON" is displayed in the IGN item. ON: Normal. OFF: Abnormal. Check the signal line connector. If there are no problems, the unit could be faulty.
  6. CHECK PARKING BRAKE SIGNAL Touch {Vehicle Signal Info.} on the << Dealer Diag Menu >> screen. Pull parking brake lever. Check that "ON" is displayed in the Parking item. ON: Normal. OFF: Abnormal. Check the signal line connector. If there are no problems, the unit could be faulty.

  1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
  2. Remove the center panel. < Refer to «CENTER PANEL»(ref-465406-S41026895012012042000000) , REMOVAL
  3. Remove the fitting screws, and slightly pull the audio out from the center console.
  4. Disconnect the harness connectors and antenna feeder cord.
  5. Remove the audio.
  6. Remove the mounting screws and detach the satellite radio unit.

FEEDER CORD

  1. Remove the roof trim. < Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-465406-S14178384052012042000000) .
  2. Remove the feeder cord from the roof trim.

PROCEDURE

For the removal and installation operation procedures of navigation unit, refer to the removal and installation procedures of the AUDIO unit. .

  1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
  2. Remove the center panel. < Refer to «CENTER PANEL»(ref-465406-S41026895012012042000000) , REMOVAL.
  3. Remove the navigation body. < Refer to «PROCEDURE»(ref-465439-S37861413372012042000000) , Navigation Body.
  4. Disconnect the connector (green) of GPS antenna. NOTE: Attach a string of about 50 cm in length, etc. to the GPS antenna connector for easy installation work.
  5. Remove the combination meter assembly. < Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-465417-S41410010762012042000000) , Combination Meter >
  6. Remove the screw and harness clamp to remove the GPS antenna. NOTE: When the GPS antenna harness connector is pulled out, remove the string attached to the connector in step 4 ).
