  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (SFI SYSTEM DTC P0560) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the ignition switch to ON. Turn the Techstream on. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / DTC. Read the DTCs using the Techstream. RESULT Result Proceed to DTCs are not output A P0560 is output (SFI system) B B --> See step 4 A: Go to next step
  2. CHECK TCM (POWER SOURCE, BODY GROUND) Disconnect the TCM connector. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.   1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (STARTER SIGNAL) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the ignition switch to ON. Turn the Techstream on. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / ECT / Data List. Read the value displayed on the Techstream. Crank the engine. Read the value displayed on the Techstream. Note. Perform the universal trip to clear permanent DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR . There is a possibility that the DTC P062F is issued from the ECUs of the ECM and TCM. Use Techstream to conduct a health check to confirm which ECU the DTC is issued from and then inspect the related system.

This non-intrusive inspection can be very useful because intermittent conditions or signals may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Reading the Data List information early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. NOTE: In the table below, the values listed under "Normal Condition" are reference values. Do not depend solely on these reference values when deciding whether a part is faulty or not. Warm up the engine. Turn the ignition switch off. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Note. Perform the universal trip to clear permanent DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR . If DTCs P0711 and P2610 are output simultaneously, confirm that the ATF temperature is as specified in "Normal Condition" using the Techstream first. When the ATF temperature is as specified in "Normal Condition", perform troubleshooting for DTC P2610. Refer to DTC P2610: ECM / PCM Internal Engine Off Timer Performance .

ECT Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note A/T Oil Temperature 1 ATF temperature sensor value/ Min.: -40°C (-40°F) Max.: 215°C (419°F) After stall test: Approx. 80°C (176°F) Equal to ambient temperature after cold soak If the value is "-40°C (-40°F)" or "150°C (302°F)", the ATF temperature sensor circuit is open or shorted. HINT: When DTC P0712 is output and the Techstream indicates 150°C (302°F) or higher, there is a short circuit. When DTC P0713 is output and the Techstream indicates -40°C (-40°F), there is an open circuit. Check the temperature displayed on the Techstream in order to check if a malfunction exists. Temperature Displayed Malfunction -40°C (-40°F) Open circuit 150°C (302°F) or higher Short circuit If a circuit related to the ATF temperature sensor becomes open, P0713 is immediately stored (in 0.5 seconds). When P0713 is stored, P0711 cannot be stored. It is not necessary to inspect the circuit when P0711 is stored.

  1. INSPECT SPEED SENSOR NT INSTALLATION Make sure that the connector is properly connected, and then check the speed sensor installation. OK The installation bolts are tightened properly and there is no clearance between the sensor and transaxle case. NG --> See step 6 OK: Go to next step
  2. INSPECT TRANSMISSION WIRE Disconnect the speed sensor connector. Remove the TCM. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.   1. ACTIVE TEST HINT: Using the Techstream to perform Active Tests allows relays, VSVs, actuators and other items to be operated without removing any parts. This non-intrusive functional inspection can be very useful because intermittent operation may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Performing Active Tests early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. Data List information can be displayed while performing Active Tests. Warm up the engine. Turn the ignition switch off. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the ignition switch to ON. Turn the Techstream on. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / ECT / Active Test. According to the display on the Techstream, perform the Active Test. ECT Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note Activate the Lock Up Control shift solenoid valve SLU and SL to set the automatic transaxle to lock-up ON or OFF Can be used to check shift solenoid valve SLU and SL operation. [Vehicle Condition] Vehicle speed: 60 km/h (37 mph) or more Lightly depress the accelerator pedal and check that the engine speed does not change abruptly. HINT: When depressing the accelerator pedal while driving, if the engine speed does not change abruptly, lock-up is on. When decelerating, slowly release the accelerator pedal, but do not fully release it (fully releasing the pedal will close the throttle valve and lock-up may be turned off).

  1. ACTIVE TEST HINT: Using the Techstream to perform Active Tests allows relays, VSVs, actuators and other items to be operated without removing any parts. This non-intrusive functional inspection can be very useful because intermittent operation may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Performing Active Tests early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. Data List information can be displayed while performing Active Tests. Warm up the engine. Turn the ignition switch off. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the ignition switch to ON. Turn the Techstream on. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / ECT / Active Test. According to the display on the Techstream, perform the Active Test. [Vehicle Condition] Vehicle speed: 60 km/h (37 mph) or more Lightly depress the accelerator pedal and check that the engine speed does not change abruptly. HINT: When depressing the accelerator pedal while driving, if the engine speed does not change abruptly, lock-up is on. When decelerating, slowly release the accelerator pedal, but do not fully release it (fully releasing the pedal will close the throttle valve and lock-up may be turned off).

  2. If the CAN communication malfunctions, the TCM cannot receive current data from the ECM. In this case, the freeze frame data output from the TCM has not been updated, so the data will not be useful for the inspection. However, reading the Data List as the first step in troubleshooting is an effective way to find malfunctions.
