Body Control Module (BCM) Replacement
If the BCM is replaced, the following procedures must be performed in the subsequent order
- BCM Reprogramming-Refer to «Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration»(ref-196943-S15104327032005101000000) in Computer/Integrating Systems for replacement, setup, and programming.
- Theft Learn-Refer to «Programming Theft Deterrent System Components»(ref-196961-S05204491162005101000000) in Theft Deterrent.
Ignition Switch Replacement
If the ignition switch is replaced the following procedures must be performed
- BCM Reprogramming-Refer to «Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration»(ref-196943-S15104327032005101000000) in Computer/Integrating Systems for replacement, setup, and programming.
- Theft Learn-Refer to «Programming Theft Deterrent System Components»(ref-196961-S05204491162005101000000) in Theft Deterrent.
Communication Interface Module Replacement
If the OnStar(R) communication interface module is replaced, the setup procedure needs to be performed. Please refer to OnStar Reconfiguration (Gen 6) or OnStar Reconfiguration (Gen 6.1) in Cellular Communication.
DRR Replacement
If the DRR is replaced, the new DRR must have the setup procedure performed. Refer to Digital Radio Receiver Setup in Entertainment.
ECM Replacement
If the engine control module (ECM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed
- ECM Reprogramming-Refer to «Service Programming System (SPS)»(ref-196948-S25874455652005101000000) .
- Crankshaft Position (CKP) Variation Learn-Refer to «CKP System Variation Learn Procedure»(ref-196955-S00053011772005101000000) in Engine Controls.
Setup for Component Replacement
The replacement of some components will require a setup procedure for complete repair.
If any of the following components are replaced, a CKP Variation Learn Procedure must be performed. Refer to CKP System Variation Learn Procedure .
- Engine replacement
- Any engine repair that disturbs the CKP sensor or it's relationship with the crankshaft reluctor wheel
- CKP sensor
Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Replacement
If the powertrain control module (PCM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed
- PCM Reprogramming-Refer to «Service Programming System (SPS)»(ref-196948-S25874455652005101000000) .
- Crankshaft Position (CKP) Variation Learn-Refer to «CKP System Variation Learn Procedure»(ref-196955-S00053011772005101000000) in Engine Controls - 2.2L (L61).
The replacement of some components will require a setup procedure for complete repair.
If any of the following components are replaced, a crankshaft position (CKP) variation learn procedure must be performed. Refer to CKP System Variation Learn Procedure in Engine Controls - 2.2L (L61).
- Engine replacement
- Any engine repair that disturbs the crankshaft position CKP sensor or its relationship with the crankshaft reluctor wheel
- CKP sensor
Radio Replacement
If the radio is replaced, the new radio must have the setup procedure performed. Refer to Radio Setup in Entertainment.
