Fault symptoms
Cars with 1 -speed radiator fan
- Fan runs continuously (also with ignition OFF).
- Battery is discharged.
- Radiator fan not working, can lead to engine overheating.
Cars with 2 -speed radiator fan
- Fan runs at low speed continuously (also with ignition OFF).
- Battery is discharged.
- Radiator fan operates only at high speed, which may lead to increased engine temperature.
Conditions
Control module output is monitored and if there is a short-circuit to ground/B+ or in the relay circuit, a diagnostic trouble code will be generated.
Diagnostic help
The output from the control module can be activated using the diagnostics instrument.
