Installing adjusting element
Installation Location
1. Position adjusting element -1- on rear lid -2- and push in until locking tabs -arrow- click into place. see scheme 180
Install upper part of rear lid lock > 558719 Removing and installing upper part of rear lid lock - Chapter "Installing" .
Installing the rear logo. Refer to 66 50 19 Removing and installing the rear logo - as of MY 2005 (Boxster, Boxster RHD, Boxster S, Boxster S RHD) .
1. Remove lining for rear lid. Refer to 70 87 19 Removing and installing trim panel for rear lid - as of MY 2006 (Cayman S, Cayman S RHD) .
2. Remove trim panel for rear lid (window frame). Refer to 70 92 19 Removing and installing trim panel for rear lid (window frame) - as of MY 2006 (Cayman S, Cayman S RHD) .
3. Remove auxiliary stop light. Refer to 94 70 19 Removing and installing auxiliary brake light - as of MY 2006 (Cayman S, Cayman S RHD) .
4. Remove wiper motor for rear window washer. Refer to 92 34 19 Removing and installing wiper motor for rear window washer - as of MY 2006 (Cayman S, Cayman S RHD) .
5. Remove lid lock upper part. > 558719 Removing and installing rear lid lock upper part - chapter on "Removing"
6. Remove logo. Refer to 66 50 19 Removing and installing the rear logo - as of MY 2006 (Cayman S, Cayman S RHD) .
7. Remove rear window. --> 64 86 19 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR WINDOW - AS OF MY 2005 (BOXSTER, BOXSTER RHD, BOXSTER S, BOXSTER S RHD) .
8. Remove rear lid. > 559019 Removing and installing rear lid - chapter on "Removing"

1. Removing adjusting element
1.1. Release lugs -arrow- on adjusting element -1- and take out from the rear lid -2-. (Scheme 368)

2. Removing fastening clips
2.1. Press out fastening clips -1-. (Scheme 369)
2.2. Check fastening clips -1-; if necessary, replace. (Scheme 369)

3.1. Remove fixing clip -1-. (Scheme 369)

4. Removing adjusting buffer
4.1. Loosen fastening screw -1- three turns. (Scheme 371)
4.2. Take off adjusting buffer -2- in direction of arrow. (Scheme 371)
4.3. Unscrew fastening screw -1- completely. (Scheme 371)

5. Removing ball pin for pneumatic spring
5.1. Unscrew ball pin -1- in direction of arrow. (Scheme 372)

1. Installing ball pin for pneumatic spring
1.1. Screw down ball pin -1- in direction of arrow. --> tightening torque: 23 (17 ftlb.) Nm. (Scheme 373)
2. Installing adjusting buffer
2.1. Screw in fastening screw -1-. (Scheme 374)
2.2. Position adjusting buffer -2- in direction of arrow and tighten fastening screw -1-. --> tightening torque: 10 (7.5 ftlb.) Nm. (Scheme 374)

3.1. Press in fixing clip -1-. (Scheme 375)

5. Installing adjusting element
5.1. Position adjusting element -1- on rear lid -2- and press in until lugs -arrow- are felt to engage. (Scheme 376)

5. Install the wiper motor for rear window washer system. Refer to 92 34 19 Removing and installing wiper motor for rear window washer - as of MY 2006 (Cayman S, Cayman S RHD) .
6. Install auxiliary stop light. Refer to 94 70 19 Removing and installing auxiliary brake light - as of MY 2006 (Cayman S, Cayman S RHD) .
7. Install trim panel for rear lid (window frame). Refer to 70 92 19 Removing and installing trim panel for rear lid (window frame) - as of MY 2006 (Cayman S, Cayman S RHD) .
8. Install trim panel for rear lid. Refer to 70 87 19 Removing and installing trim panel for rear lid - as of MY 2006 (Cayman S, Cayman S RHD) .
