INTERFERENCE NOISE DUE TO ANTENNA
Note. Follow this test routine if the interference noises come from the antenna. As an experiment, it is worth making a comparison by inserting a rod antenna.

| 1 | Clean all connections. Connect a ground strap to the antenna plug. Connect the other end of the ground strap to a suitable point on the car body. Check the ground connection with an ohmmeter at the negative terminal of the battery. Interference noise still present? | Check all antenna mountings for good ground connections with the negative terminal of the battery. Check all hardware mountings for firm seating and clean ground connections. Noise present, Go to Step 2 Noise not present End | End |
| 2 | Cut the ground cable to the radio approx. 30 cm from the device. Make a ground connection directly to the radio housing. Connect the 30-cm-long end of the ground cable to the radio housing. Connect the new ground connection to a suitable point on the car body. Check the ground connection with an ohmmeter at the negative terminal of the battery. Interference noise still present? | End | Replace defective components. End |
