[2] pivot ball-joint uncoupling lever (-).0622

[3] positioning calipers (-).0623

Removing

Lift and support the vehicle with front wheels suspended

Lock the steering column in the low outlet position

Remove the cover under the instrument panel (1)

Remove bolts (2)

Detach the steering universal joint by moving aside the safety clip (3)

Remove the mountings (4)

Remove the gaiter (5)

Remove the mountings (6)

Remove

• The front wheels
• The mud shields
• The screen under the drive train
• The screens under the fan unit

Remove

• The lower fixings (7) (electric cooling fan unit)
• The fixing (8) of the air conditioning pipes
• The intermediate exhaust pipe

Remove the particulate emission filter

Remove the screw (9) for the reaction link

Remove

• The fixing (11) (vacuum reservoir)
• The engine mounting fixings (10) (before)

Remove the fastener (12) (engine support - rear)

Drain the power steering circuit

Unclamp the power steering pipe (13)

Remove

• The stabilising bar rod (14)
• The securing bolts (15) (front sub-frame tie rods)
• The securing bolts (16) (rear sub-frame tie rods)
• The nut which secures the wishbone to the pivot ball joint (17)
• The steering ball-joint nuts (18)

Release: steering ball joint (using tool [1])

Release: pivot ball-joint (using tool [2])

Disconnect the height sensor connector (19) (each side)

Take the weight of the sub-frame using a jack

Remove

• The mounting bolts (20 - 21 - 22) on the sub-frame
• The sub-frame

Refitting

Always replace: the Nylstop nuts

Centralise the sub-frame using tools [3]

Continue the fitting operations in the reverse order to removal

Place the vehicle at its reference ride height (to tighten the bolts (21))

Check and adjust the front suspension geometry

Tightening torques
