ignition on open circuit or short circuit to positive or short circuit to earth (on terminals 3, 4, 31, 32 of the engine control unit)ignition on, engine ECU, disconnected: - check: no voltage at terminal(s) 3, 4, 31, 32 of the control unit ignition off, engine ECU, disconnected: - no earth at terminal 3, 4, 31, 32 on the 88 V.NR connector ignition off, engine ECU, disconnected, idling regulation stepper motor, disconnected: - check continuity of wires A, B, C and D ignition off, engine ECU, disconnected, idling regulation stepper motor, connected: - 50 Ω ≤ R ≤ 60 Ω between terminals 3 and 32 and terminals 4 and 31 of connector of the control unit

Check(s) to be carried out if no fault found

Carry out the stepper motor actuator test

- the stepper motor works

- disconnect the ECU for 5 minutes and then initialise it

- check the idle speed with the engine warm

- check that there are no air leaks beyond the throttle butterfly

- the stepper motor does not work

- replace the stepper motor
