Check: body accelerometer function Peugeot 306 I

ECU information available

Actuator test: no OK

Measure parameters: no OK

Characterised by

  • Short circuit to positive or open circuit
  • Short circuit to earth
  • No signal or consistency

Checks to be carried out if fault is present

Short circuit to positive or open circuit

conditions under which the fault appearschecks to be made conditions for checking
engine running at idle, vehicle driving at different engine speeds, steady speeds, short circuit to positive on terminal(s) 72 (88 V.NR), open circuit on terminal(s) 72 (88 V.NR)if a vehicle speed fault is present, deal with the fault ignition on, control unit 1320 disconnected, body accelerometer sensor 1222, connected: - check, no voltage on terminal(s) 72 ignition on, ECU 1320 connected, body accelerometer sensor disconnected: - check, 5 V present at terminals 1 and 2 of connector 3 V.NR (1222)

Short circuit to earth

conditions under which the fault appearschecks to be made conditions for checking
engine running at idle, vehicle driving at different engine speeds, steady speeds, short circuit to earth, short circuit to earth on terminal(s) 72 (88 V.NR) computer 1320ignition off, engine ECU disconnected body accelerometer sensor 1222 connected - check: no earth at terminal(s) 72 on the 88 V.NR connector ignition on, ECU 1320 connected, body accelerometer sensor disconnected: - check, 5 V present at terminals 1 and 2 of connector 3 V.NR (1222)

No signal or consistency

conditions under which the fault appearschecks to be made conditions for checking
engine running at idle, vehicle driving at different engine speeds, steady speedsif a vehicle speed fault is present, deal with the fault verify: - accelerometer to bracket mounting - bracket to body mounting unscrew: - accelerometer, tap (using a metal tool) the accelerometer bracket check the variation in the signal perceived by the ECU 1320: - (oscillation) - voltage measured between terminals 72 and 37 of the engine control unit equal to 2.5 V - test with a new sensor 1222, if the original fault is still present, replace the ECU 1320
