Ecc - Unit, General
The Zafira is available from MY 2003 with an electronically controlled air conditioning system ECC (Electronic Climate Control) as an optional extra.
This manually controlled AC available to date has been modified in the following regards:
- Heating / air conditioning controls
- Temperature sensor
- Sun sensor
- Fan regulator
The adjustment of the ECC is calculated during the journey via the following factors:
- Incident solar radiation
- Outside temperature
- Blow-out temperature of the vent nozzles and the footwell nozzles
- Fan program
The temperature inside the vehicle is measured at start-up, after this the temperature inside the vehicle in the head area is calculated as described for the Omega-B. The temperature inside the vehicle is regulated continuously in this way.
Ecc -Operating Unit
The ECC operating unit has a similar structure to the existing system in the Corsa-C and Astra-G. It contains the following elements:
- 1. Display
- 2. Windscreen defogging / defrosting
- 3. Automatic operation switch
- 4. Compressor "OFF" switch
- 5. Switch for heated rear screen
- 6. Fan setting switch
- 7. Switch for footwell air distribution
- 8. Switch for vent nozzles air distribution
- 9. Switch for windscreen air distribution
- 10. Recirculating air switch
- 11. Rotary knob for preset temperature

The ECC controls can be diagnosed using TECH 2.
Sun Sensor
The sun sensor (1) with integrated temperature sensor is in the centre of the top surface of the instrument panel padding.
