How to Replace the Intermediate Shaft, Right Drive Opel Vivaro A

Remove

  1. 1. Immobilise steering wheel in centre position • Engage steering lock
  2. 2. Disconnect intermediate shaft (2) from coupling (1) of steering column • Remove locking cover from 2x nut • Remove 2x bolt, 2x nut • Slide coupling (1) upwards
  1. 3. Raise vehicle
  2. 4. Remove engine and transmission undershield from vehicle
  3. 5. Disconnect intermediate shaft from steering gear • Remove nut (1), bolt
  4. 6. Remove intermediate shaft from vehicle • Withdraw intermediate shaft from driver's footwell

Install

  1. 7. Position new intermediate shaft in vehicle • Insert intermediate shaft through bulkhead into driver's footwell
  1. 8. Connect intermediate shaft to steering gear • Install bolt, new nut (1) 21 Nm
  1. 9. Install engine and transmission undershield to vehicle
  2. 10. Lower vehicle
  3. 11. Connect intermediate shaft (2) to coupling (1) of steering column • Slide coupling (1) downwards to engage with intermediate shaft • Install 2x bolt, 2x new nut 21 Nm • Install 2x new locking cover to 2x nut
