Engine Speed - Increases During Gear Change. Opel Vivaro A

Field Remedy: 1554

Subject:Engine Speed - Increases during gear change.
Models:Engines:Option:
Vivaro 2001...2003F9Q-762-1.9 DI| F9Q-760-1.9 DTI
Complaint:During gear change between 1st and 2nd gear the engines speed can increase.
Cause:Calibration of clutch switch with engine electronics.
Production:As of 13.01.2003 the production harness has been upgraded and the new switch is now fitted. Breakpoint: W0LF7BCB63V618583.

Remedy:

In case of customer complaint replace the original clutch switch and small clutch pedal harness with modified parts. New switch rod is 2 mm longer to compensate for the customer not removing their foot completely of the clutch pedal during gear change.

Note: For RHD vehicles the original loom was a carry over from LHD therefore the one being removed will be a twin harness of which the brake switch connector was not used. Its replacement is now correctly specified to service the clutch pedal only. For LHD vehicles the harness is a direct replacement of the original that services both clutch and brake switch connections.

It maybe useful to remove the headlamp leveling switch to gain better access to view the routing of the loom from above.
