Complaint:Incorrect Service Instruction / Missing Torque Figure for 1st intermediate timing gear
Cause:
Production:

Remedy:

Please be aware that the current TIS service instruction for intermediate timing gear installation on G9U-730 is incorrect (Doc.No. 00310646). Step 96 advises that the 1st intermediate timing gear bolt is installed but not tightened. Step 108 later advises that the front intermediate cover is installed which then prevents any further tightening of the bolt.

The bolt (1) should obviously be tightened to the specified torque before the front cover is installed. The correct figure is 25 Nm +30° +/- 6°.

TIS will be corrected for the next service instruction update (TIS 2000 DVD 74, expected for September 2006).
