Return Line, Replace (Lhd)
For 15 D, 15 DT and C 16 XE engines - remove brake servo with master brake cylinder - see operation "Brake Servo, Remove and Install" in group H.
C 16 XE engines - remove intake port and upper radiator hose. Collect escaping coolant.
Unscrew special nut from steering gear. Loosen hose clamp from connection hose and remove return line (5).
Fasten connection hose clamp to return pipe (5) so that no fluid escapes.
Insert special nut for return line in steering gear, use new seal ring and tighten - tightening torque 12 Nm / 9 lbf. ft.
For C 16 XE engines, install intake ports for air cleaners and upper coolant hose. Top up coolant. For 15 D, 15 DT and C 16 XE engines, install brake servo and master brake cylinder. Top up and bleed brake system - see operation "Brake System, Bleed and Check for Leaks" in group "H"..
Top up hydraulic system and check for leaks - see operation "Hydraulic System, Top Up / Bleed".
