02PROGRAM KEYThis TECH 1 function can be used to program the infrared transmitters consecutively and individually into the central locking control unit.

Ignition ON

Press key F7 in the TECH 1 main menu, select the desired test using the arrow keys and confirm with YES. Follow the instructions in the TECH 1 display.

Hold the infrared transmitter being programmed in the immediate vicinity of the infrared receiver and press the centre button several times.

Note:

With the ignition ON, the reception area of the infrared receiver is limited to a few centimetres.

If the display on the right appears after programming, the relevant infrared transmitter has been successfully programmed.

TECH 1 cannot automatically determine whether programming was successful. For this reason, carry out the following test steps:

· Switch ignition off/on

· Carry out test steps 14, 21, 22 and 25 to 34 from section F0:DATA LIST.

· Activate/deactivate the electronic immobiliser or the central locking using the two buttons of the reprogrammed infrared transmitter

PROCEDURE

If the above display does not appear after programming, a fault is present. Carry out the following measures consecutively:

· Check whether the corresponding LED illuminates when the buttons on the infrared transmitter are actuated.

(otherwise infrared transmitter batteries flat)

· Read out trouble codes.

· Carry out quick check F0:DATA LIST.

· Carry out quick check

F5:ACTUATOR TEST.

· Repeat programming.

· Carry out TECH 1 self-test.

· Check TECH 1 lead for damaged insulation and shielding.

· Repeat programming with new control unit.
