Quick Warming Up System, Check
Engine should be cold and ambient temperature below 15°C/59°F for quick warming up system to operate.
If engine is warm and/or ambient temperature is above 15°C/59°F, bypass coolant temperature and/or ambient temperature switches as described below.

Harness connector from coolant temperature switch (arrowed) at thermostat housing.
Harness connector from ambient temperature switch located behind radiator grille.

| Short circuit to each harness connector - use suitable connectors. | |||

Start engine. Do not operate accelerator pedal, switch on quick warming up system switch then check:
Fast idle control device operates to increase engine speed.
Intake throttle operates.
Disconnect actuator cable from exhaust throttle and ensure that exhaust throttle moves by hand.
Reconnect cable.
Depress accelerator pedal slightly to ensure that intake and exhaust throttles return slightly.
