Warning: It is important to pay attention to the repair instructions before carrying out repair work on the ABS control module or hydraulic modulator.
Remove
- 1. Detach ABS control unit/hydraulic modulator
- 2. Detach ABS control unit (1) from hydraulic modulator • Clamp hydraulic unit in vice with control module uppermost • Unscrew 4x screws (arrow) and remove ABS control unit
Note. Use protective jaw.
Note. Pay attention to different screw lengths.
Important. If the seal is damaged, replace the control unit.
- 3. Check seal on control unit for perfect condition and cleanliness
- 4. Clean sealing surfaces on hydraulic unit
Note. Clean carefully with lint-free cloth. Soak cloth with spirit in the case of heavy deposits or gasket residue.
Install
Important. Do not push control unit down onto surface of cover under any circumstances - outer edge of housing only.
- 5. Attach ABS control unit (1) to hydraulic modulator • Align ABS control unit in central position and carefully push down onto hydraulic modulator • Screw in 4x new screws of correct length (arrow) • Tighten 4x screws (arrow) crosswise 1,5 Nm • Tighten 4x screws (arrow) crosswise 3 Nm
Note. Only insert screws until the head is flush with the control module.
Note. Ensure that the control module is positioned correctly on the hydraulic modulator. Hydraulic modulator must be replaced if screws do not go in properly or tightening torque is not reached.
- 6. Install ABS control unit/hydraulic modulator
- 7. When replacing the ABS control unit: Program ABS control unit • with TECH 2
