Remedy:
In case of customer complaint check the trouble codes via Tech2 first. If any of the trouble codes B3925, B3929, B3902 are present, proceed with following steps before doing anything else.
Step 1: first make sure that BCM, instrument (IPC) and airbag control unit (SDM) are taking part in CAN bus communication (test with vehicle wide trouble code check or presence detection). If any of these devices is missing the cause has to be found and solved.
Step 2: Then reset and reprogramm BCM (Tech2 Software version 105.000 or higher) before any other repair attempts are made. In most cases engine should start now and all DTC's can be cleared. If the engine cannot be started please contact ETAC for further assistance.
Important information:
- When Tech2 asks during BCM programming whether BCM and/or ECM (Engine Control Unit) has been replaced this question also means whether BCM and/or ECM has been reset!
- Do not reset ECM before or at the same time as BCM is reset, otherwise data about the vehicle's key could be lost which would require new key transponders.
