Variable Interval Wiping for Windscreens
The standard period for an interval is approx. 7 seconds. The shortest adjustable period is approx. 2 seconds and the longest period is approx. 15 seconds for an interval.
The adjustment is made after switching on the ignition in the following manner:
- Switch on interval wiping
- Switch off interval wiping The time between switching on and switching off is stored by the body control module and corresponds to the new period of the interval wiping.
- Switch on interval wiping again.
The duration of a period must be between the shortest and longest period otherwise the standard period of 7 seconds is selected by the body control module. After switching off the ignition and switching on the ignition again, the standard period exists again for interval wiping.
If the control system for the screen wipe system has a defect (switch, cable etc.), the screen wiper runs constantly.
