Ends Outer Tie Rod Replace Opel Campo I

Slacken lock nut on right or left outer tie rod. Nuts marked L have left-hand threads.

Procedure describes replacing end at wheel side of outer tie rod method for other end is similar.

Remove

Outer tie rod from steering arm - split pin and nut - use Puller KM-787.

End from outer tie rod.

Install

Lock nut and end to tie rod with equal amount of thread to give a rod length of A.

A = 306.9 mm on two wheel drive models.

A = 262 mm on four wheel drive models.

Install

Outer tie rod with left-hand threaded end facing centre tie rod. Lock nuts with —+new split pins – 118 Nm.

Tie rod end to steering arm – nut 98 Nm.

Adjust

Toe in – see operation "Toe-in Adjust" in group E.
