The EEC system carries fuel vapour emitted by the carburettor and fuel tank (when the engine is not running) to a charcoal canister. When the engine is started, stored vapours from the canister are mixed with ambient air and fed directly into the intake manifold for combustion.

The system consists of a charcoal canister, tank pressure control valve, vent switching valve, thermal vacuum valve and connecting tubes.
