It does not indicate the presence of a fault, but ensures that the airbag telltale remains activated after the control unit is installed in a vehicle for the first time until the control unit has been programmed correctly. During programming, the control unit receives information about whether the vehicle is equipped with an airbag system with one deployment circuit (driver only) or two deployment circuits (driver and passenger). |
