Power Steering Pump Replace

Remove

  1. Remove the serpentine accessory drive belt. Refer to Accessory Drive Belt Replace .
  2. Remove the engine front shield. Refer to Engine Front Shield Replace .

Important: Observe relevant environmental regulations when disposing of used lubricants.

  1. Position a drain pan to catch the power steering fluid that will drain from the high–pressure hose after it is disconnected from the power steering pump.
  2. Disconnect the high–pressure hose and the supply hose from the power steering pump.
  1. Remove the two power steering pump bolts through the pump pulley hole and remove the power steering pump from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Install the power steering pump into the vehicle and install the power steering pump bolts.

Tighten

Tighten the power steering pump bolts to 25 N•m (18 lb-ft).

  1. Connect the supply hose to the power steering pump.
  2. Connect the high–pressure hose fitting to the power steering pump.

Tighten

Tighten the high–pressure hose fitting to 28 N•m (21 lb-ft).

  1. Install the engine front shield. Refer to Engine Front Shield Replace .
  2. Install the serpentine accessory drive belt. Refer to Accessory Drive Belt Replace .
  3. Refill the power steering fluid.
  4. Bleed the power steering system.
