DTC P0530 - A/C REFRIGERANT PRESSURE SENSOR CIRCUIT Oldsmobile Cutlass VI

Note. For circuit reference, see the appropriate WIRING DIAGRAMS article. For connector and terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION .

Circuit Description

PCM uses input signal from A/C refrigerant pressure sensor to determine if it should turn on engine coolant fans. When signal is out of range, DTC P0530 sets and PCM will not allow A/C clutch to engage. Conditions required to set DTC are

  1. Engine is running.
  2. System voltage is greater than 10 volts.
  3. A/C is requested.
  4. A/C refrigerant pressure sensor signal less than 0.4 volt. Or: A/C refrigerant pressure sensor signal greater than 4.6 volts.
  5. Either condition present longer than 20 seconds.
