DTC P0141 - HO2S HEATER CIRCUIT SENSOR 2 Oldsmobile Cutlass VI

Note. For circuit reference, see the appropriate WIRING DIAGRAMS article. For connector and terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION .

Circuit Description

When ignition is turned on, battery voltage is supplied to HO2S heater to provide for faster sensor warm-up, thus allowing sensor to become active in a shorter period of time. PCM reads amount of time necessary for sensor to become active after start-up.

Conditions required to set DTC are

  1. No CKP, ECT, EGR pintle position, IAT, MAF, MAP or TP sensor DTCs set.
  2. No EVAP system DTC set.
  3. No fuel injector circuit, fuel trim or misfire DTCs set.
  4. ECT and IAT less than 95°F (35°C) at start-up.
  5. Difference between ECT and IAT no greater than 11°F (6°C).
  6. MAF less than 15 gm/s.
  7. HO2S 2 voltage remains within 0.15 volt of bias voltage (about 0.45 volt) for longer amount of time than it should.
