Note. Stanza and 200SX models use dual electronic ignition system. Firing order is 1-3-4-2 and rotor is designed with 135 degree offset to fire both plugs simultaneously. A spark plug switching system turns off 4 spark plugs under load conditions.
- Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Turn air conditioning off (if equipped). Place transmission in Neutral (Man. Trans.) or in "D" (Auto. Trans.). On models with power steering, keep wheels in straight ahead position. Adjust idle speed.
- On all models except 200SX Turbo and Federal Sentra, disconnect and plug distributor vacuum hoses.
- Connect timing light to engine. Loosen distributor clamp bolt and turn distributor until specified ignition timing is obtained. Retighten distributor clamp bolt.
