Note. Mixture adjustment is NOT part of normal tune-up procedure and should not be performed unless mixture control unit is replaced, carburetor overhauled or vehicle fails emissions testing.
Scheme 3
- Connect tachometer and timing light. Turn accessories and air conditioner off. Warm engine to normal operating temperature. On models with power steering, keep wheels in straight ahead position. On 200SX models, open hood and run engine at 2000 RPM for 5 minutes.
- Stop engine. Disconnect and plug vacuum hose at distributor. Accelerate engine 2-3 times and return to idle. Adjust idle speed by turning idle speed adjusting screw.
- Turn diagnostic mode selector on ECU (behind left kick panel) to "OFF" position and reconnect vacuum hose at distributor. On 200SX Turbo models, turn diagnostic mode selector fully counter-clockwise.
- On all models, run engine at 2000 RPM for 2 minutes. Green ECU inspection lamp on Stanza and 200SX should flash on and off at least 9 times in 10 seconds at 2000 RPM. If lamp flashes, go to next step. If not, go to «TESTING & MIXTURE ADJUSTMENT»(ref-92112-S12206739802002071100000) .
- Accelerate engine 2-3 times and return to idle. If Red and Green ECU inspection lamps flash together, mixture is okay and adjustment is complete. Turn mode selector to original position. Recheck idle speed and remove test equipment. If lamps do not flash, go to «TESTING & MIXTURE ADJUSTMENT»(ref-92112-S12206739802002071100000) .
